‘Ramp-down’ as Tropicana Las Vegas shuts doors will ease end for workers, officials say Don’t ask for a late checkout at the Tropicana on April 2. The doors lock at noon, and that’s the end of it. Restaurants, shops and hotel business — all done for customers.

Clark County has approved zoning plans for a new movie studio called Summerlin Production Studios on the west side of Las Vegas. Sony Pictures and Howard Hughes Holdings are partners on the project.

Summerlin is going to be the new Hollywood.

Several years after an accidental fire destroyed the beloved Mount Charleston Lodge, owners have released renderings of a two-story lodge and restaurant plan that will expand the eatery, add more patio space and include an attached parking garage.
