This year we want to hear from YOU and what made you get involved in St. Baldrick’s! Keep reading to learn how James is becoming a Crusader for a Cure this year! ☘️

“I wish I could say it was anything more than vanity that led me to my first St. Baldrick's event in 2008, but I can't. After several attempts to deal with thinning hair, I saw the event promoted at the Las Vegas Wranglers game across the street (yes, my hockey fandom in the desert goes back a ways) I figured, good cause, hell, we'll see what it looks like. I thought it looked pretty good. Then I had the chance to talk about my experience and meet the McMullans, and the charity officials, and the doctors and patients. More of my friends, family, and coworkers donated their time and, in some cases, their hair to this excellent cause. I was proud to be knighted in 2014, weeks before moving away from the valley, back home to Chicago, after 15 years in 2014.

I am proud to have my photo on the wall of the League of Legendary Heroes and have shown it to others when I've been in town. My oldest son, who was six when I started doing this? I bought him the first pint I could legally do so under that photo last October. And now, a lot older, a little grayer, and a lot more naturally bald than I was the first time I participated, I'm proud to come back to Las Vegas for my Crusader year to the place that recognizes this cause as the celebration and powerful agent of change that it is. I couldn't be happier to come back to Vegas this weekend to see some of my oldest friends, as well as some of my old friends.

Looking forward to another amazing event!

One of our favorite things about St. Baldrick’s is hearing the stories of the people who are getting involved in our event.

No matter who you are, every single person is touched by cancer in some way. It could be the diagnoses of a family member, a friend, a colleague, your neighbor or even yourself. The harsh reality is that cancer doesn’t discriminate.

Join us on Saturday, September 14th for our annual head-shaving event benefiting the St. Baldrick’s Foundation and everything that it does to help in the quest of conquering childhood cancer.

Welcome to McMullan’s Irish Pub

We hope that you have a grand visit with us!

Our Pub derives its history from ancient shores of Ireland.

Our Publican, Brian McMullan, is the grandson of Thomas McMullan who, back in 1908 bought Glenarm’s ‘Farmer’s Hotel’ from Mr. Thomas Charles for 780 Pounds. For his price, he not only got the pub, but also Mr. Charles’ horse & Undertaking business. Therein began the publican dynasty, the fruits of which you see here today. Indeed, Thomas also bought another watering hole in 1919, this one called the ‘Seaview Hotel’ which the family held onto until just after WWII when we sold it on to Mr. James McAllister. This incidentally, is now a private residence. Following Thomas’ death in 1934, his son Jim McMullan faithfully continued the family businesses. Jim, a keen member of the local boxing club & during the war years active in the local Platoon Home Guard, worked hard until 1974 when, at his passing, the pub(today known as ‘The Coast Road’) was sold out of the family to the McConnell’s of Ballyclare.

From the family’s early beginnings in farming, we moved into the pub business & the undertaking business, never mind running hte only taxi service& post office in town. A regular entrepreneur, in 1915, Thomas was first in the area to secure a motor car for funeral services! Still, the pub thrived, remembered all these years later as always having good crowds & they were renowned for their traditional pints & food thanks to the fresh produce from the farm, fresh salmon from the Antrim river & an abundance of locally caught seafood. And, so, for generations, we have prided ourselves on serving wholesome food to compliment the pouring of the perfect pint.
