'Tis the season to help others! Our Valley Health System Education Training Center held its second annual food drive and collected six large boxes to donate to ThreeSquare. The team also made 10 Hygiene/ Gift bags with each educator writing a special card of encouragement for Shade Tree residents. Donna and Sherise, from our Outreach team, along with a few special friends, were proud to represent Desert Springs Hospital during the 4th annual Construction vs Cancer event. This unique event gives families across the Valley the chance to come together in support of childhood cancer patients in Nevada and nationwide while allowing Junior Operator attendees an exclusive opportunity to get in the driver’s seat and operate heavy machinery, including backhoes, diggers, and excavators.
Kids also had the opportunity to climb the popular Scaffolding Lookout Tower, dig in the Giant Sandbox, watch live local entertainment on the Main Stage and help construct a cure for cancer by lending a hand at the memorable Wall of Hope art project.
All funds raised support the American Cancer Society and our mission to save and celebrate lives and lead the fight for a world without cancer.
