We saved this client $40k by replicating the 19' tall plaster crown molding out of wood. After drafting the profile and dividing it into moldable sections, we were able to draft the different molding profiles. After building 8 knives and layering the different molding profiles together, we had an exact replica, and once it was finished and painted, no one could tell the difference. 15 years ago my team and I completed the exterior renovation of 1525 O st. NW, DC. We built (almost) exact replicas of the windows and doors (we upgraded to 1/2” low-e glass), and also restored the brick facade. We also renovated the interior..
