We proudly shine the spotlight on Registered Behavior Technician, Leona Vanskike, our Sunshine Center ⭐ of the Month!

Leona is part of the terrific team at our Center in Lawton, OK where she recently rescued a choking client with the Heimlich maneuver. Leona jumped in without reservation and immediately took steps to save the child’s life.

Leona has over 20 years of experience supporting individuals with special needs, particularly those on the autism spectrum. She has expressed that caring for her 18-year-old daughter with autism has deepened her understanding of the complexities and rewards of this field and fueled her unwavering passion for helping others. Leona is also a strong proponent of mental health advocacy.

Leona Vanskike is a hero and we are forever grateful for her quick action and fearless heart. Hooray for Leona and congratulations! 💙

Due to on going power issues impacting the city of Lawton and our center is remaining closed until 10 am. If the power is still not back on we will asses this closure and update it accordingly.

It's Robot week here at the Lawton Sunshine Center!

Whether it is the line tracing robots, edible robots, mask making or digging for robots in the sand- our patients are having a lot of fun this week.

We even have our very own life sized robot to help!

Dino week is off to a great start. Whether it’s making a volcano erupt, digging for dinosaurs in the sand or chipping the dirt away to find hidden dinosaurs our kiddos are sure to have fun in therapy.

It’s Beach Week in Lawton!

We are just wrapping up “Camping Week”. Kids have made handprint campfires, s’mores and experienced using a tent!

This was set up and designed by our OT team to work on fine motor skills, feeding and sensory integration.
