I did two weddings this weekend, and something I hear from clients all the time is 'my hair doesn't hold curl'. And pretty much every time, I can get it to stay even after they've slept overnight 😂 So here are some tips for curls that last:
1) starting with a clean canvas and the right products. If you use a shampoo and conditioner that coats your hair and weighs it down, it's going to be too slick. Don't add tons of serum or leave in conditioner.
2) use the right tools. If your curling iron is too big, or you take too big of sections, you won't get the curl you want. Want soft waves? Use a wand. Short hair? Use a flat iron to make curls. You can even pin the curls up until you're finished so they cool into shape.
3) hairspraayyyyyy. Now, this can be tricky. I like a lighter hairspray that you can layer (like my Eufora Elevate. I'll spray each section after I'm done curling, then spray again when I'm finished with the style. Using too much hairspray or one that is too heavy will actually have the opposite effect and can weigh down your curls.
