C4 needs your help making sure Lake County summer events are Zero Waste โป๏ธ๐ฎ๐๏ธ Weโre looking for folks to commit to 4 hour shifts during Boom Days (August 2-4), LT100 Bike (August 8-10th), or LT 100 Run (August 16-18) โ๏ธ๐ด๐โโ๏ธPay starts at $18 an hour ๐ธ๐ Duties include managing zero waste stations and separating and sorting recyclables and compostables from trash. Youโll not only get paid for helping the planet and our community, but youโll also get a chance to meet new people and have a blast at some of our favorite Leadville events! ๐ฅณ Applications are at the link in bio or at c4leadville.org/jobsinternships

We think our new farm sign by is pretty Kool-rabi ๐ The Farm Market will be OPEN THURSDAY JULY 4th and starting this week we will be holding self-serve farm stand hours every Friday. If you canโt make it on Thursday evenings, swing by the farm on Fridays and snag some leftover (but still fresh!) produce. โ๐ผ๐๐ฅ

This week C4 successfully acquired the solar garden near County Rd 10, Lake Countyโs first and only community solar garden for $1. This acquisition secures the future of vital environmental infrastructure, safeguarding over one million dollars initially invested, and ensuring its continued benefit for the Lake County community and beyond. It does need some major repairs but we hope the array will be back up and running this summer โ๐ผ๐โ๏ธ

Indigo Olsen (LCHS junior) and C4 have teamed up to collect reusable bags to distribute at Safeway at no charge to customers. We encourage you to gather up those extra reusable bags you have laying around the house to donate to this project. Bag drop-off spots include the , post office, and beginning on Friday, the county courthouse. We will also have donation bins at the upcoming Earth Day events - Freight on 4/17, the Old Church on 4/18, and library on 4/20 โ๐ผ๐โป๏ธ

After a couple of months of hard work this fall, we are excited to say that Cloud City Farm is now home to a second high tunnel. This second tunnel doubles our protected growing space, allowing us to grow even more healthy food for our community. We would like to say a huge thank you to the farm staff and volunteers that helped get this big project across the finish line.
