Hey Sis!
There are Three simple rules in life.
I. If you don't go after what you want, you'll never have it.
2. If you don't ask, you shall not receive!
3. If you don't step forward, you will stay in the same place.
So Letâs Go Sis! đĽ

The question is what does having a seat at a table really mean?
Unfortunately and often, the "seat" is really not "at the table" but at quite a distance from it.
There use to be a time when I was at the table but my voice wasnât heard. It wasnât up to the CEO to include me but it was my responsibility to ensure they understood my worth and how vital I was to the organization.
Once I figured it out, it changed the game for me but for some, it makes the role unattractive because itâs uncomfortable.
Despite receiving invitations to sit at the table from CEOs, some women are apathetic and unenthusiastic about the âopportunities." Because they are being asked to play small.
My advice to all the women out there who resonate:
Know Your Worth!! The only permission you need in order to stop playing small is your own. And hence, when the opportunity is small, ask for it to become big! .
Stay engaged, persistent and navigate the barriers. You should never feel like you must âearn" a seat if you are at the right position level and expertise. The seat belongs to you just as much as it belongs to your peer.
â¨Tip of the Day
5 Ways Top Leaders Overcome Adversity
1. Determination
2. Take Responsibility
3. Treat Negative Feedback as a Gift
4. Focus on Your Strengths
5. Identify New Goals
If I tell you becoming a leader is glamorous, I would be misleading you. As I personally climbed the career ladder, I met adversity at each rung of the ladder.
It was my DETERMINATION that wouldnât let me quit. My dadâs famous wordâs were âNothing BEATS failure but a TRY.
So I took the responsibility to create my own success by taking the NEGATIVE FEEDBACK as a gift and turning it into a positive.
I knew my WORTH so I set GOALS, found a MENTOR and used my STRENGTHS to overcome the barriers that were placed before me.
Becoming a Leader and getting that SEAT at the TABLE doesnât happen over night. Your PERSEVERANCE, PLANNING, and FAVOR makes room for you at the table.
Be encouraged because your time is coming for you to have the CAREER you desire, earn the INCOME you deserve, and live the LIFESTYLE of your dreams.

Leaders act as a guide for employees and organizations. An effective leader motivates, empowers, and inspires employees to become high performers and overall high functioning teams for the organization.
Successful leaders are highly effective communicators. Their ability to communicate is essential to the growth of their teams and ultimately the organization.
Tip of the Day: Effective Communication
There are 5 Communication Styles:
â
Passive (used when someone is being aggressive)
â
Assertive (the most recommended style in a business setting)
â
Aggressive (should be avoided in most cases)
â
Manipulative (should be steered toward assertive)
đŤPassive-Aggressive (NEVER USE)
How you communicate can affect the message intended and will drive the outcome.
There are times when you may need to use different styles based on the person you are communicating with. There is NEVER a time the Passive-Aggressive style should be used as it creates very toxic environments.
You determine the best method and the right timeâŚ.

âWe need to accept that we donât always make the right decisions, that weâll screw up royally sometimes. Understand that failure is not the opposite of success, itâs part of success.â - Arianna Huffington
Understand the various leadership styles and learn which one resonates with you. Swipe left to read:
1. Autocratic leadership is defined by a top-down approach when it comes to all decision-making, procedures, and policies within an organization.
2. Transactional leadership - is defined by control, organization, and short-term planning. Leaders who adopt this style rely on a system of rewards and punishment to motivate their followers.
3. Bureaucratic leadership - relies on a clear chain of command, strict regulations, and conformation by its followers. As the name implies, this is a leadership style thatâs commonly found in government entities, as well as military and public organizations.
4. Charismatic leadership - is defined as a leader who uses communication skills, persuasiveness, and charm to influence others. Charismatic leaders, given their ability to connect with people on a deep level, are especially valuable within organizations that are facing a crisis or are struggling to move forward.
5. Transformational leaders - create a vision based on identified needs and guide their teams toward that unified goal through inspiration and motivation.
6. Coaching leadership - is a style defined by collaboration, support, and guidance. Coaching leaders are focused on bringing out the best in their teams by guiding them through goals and obstacles.
7. Democratic leadership - commonly known as participative leadership, is about letting multiple people participate in the decision-making process. This type of leadership can be seen in a wide range of contexts, from businesses to schools to governments.
8. Collaborative leadership - is focused on encouraging people to work together across functional and organizational boundaries. The purpose of this leadership style is to encourage collaboration with other teams and departments to accomplish shared goals.
9. Servant leadership - puts the needs and wellbeing of followers first. In other words, these types of leaders adopt a serve-first approach and growth mindset to prioritize their organization, employees, and community above themselves.
10. Laissez-faire leadership - takes a hands-off approach to leadership and gives others the freedom to make decisions. While leaders still provide their teams with the resources and tools they need to succeed, they remain largely uninvolved in the day-to-day work. This is a leadership style youâll commonly find in creative settings, such as advertising agencies or startups, due to its encouragement of independent thinking. Article source: https://rpb.li/Ya2
Here are three things leaders can do to facilitate change management during mergers, acquisitions, or unexpected events:
1. Recognize you're going through a change -
Sounds simple, but many times, the self-awareness of what is going on around you can be challenging to recognize. Talk with front-line management and look out for communications from the leadership team to understand the why and how of the event. Then, spend time figuring out the best way to communicate and help your team with the change.
2. Communicate accurately about the change -
Leaders and managers need to be aware of how theyâre talking about a particular change. Make sure the greater team understands whatâs going on, and how their actions and discussions influence their staff and patients. Share the anticipated changes and how they can work with the leaders (physicians) to move effectively through the change positively. Describe to your teams how to reinforce the messaging to patients and vendors, even how to do it informally.
3. Lead with introspection -
The best leaders are very self-aware and lead with introspection, not authority. Navigating change isnât easy, and those who lead through it best are people who understand their power and use it to help others feel safe. Physicians often arenât aware of their innate, implied authority; thus, the leadership aspect of change management and leading with introspection is important.
Being skilled at change management is something all leaders and organizations need to take seriously and prioritize. With regular mergers, acquisitions, and other organizational changes, it is a standard part of the business world. The more prepared your leaders are to lead through change, the better the experiences your employees, customers, and patients will have.

âLeaders are not just born. Sure, some people are born with strong competencies and strengths for leading in certain situations, but it is very clear that leadership can also be developed. That means everyone can strengthen their skills and abilities to lead and influence.ââDr. Susan Madsen
The first 100 days of being a newly hired leader or manager are critically important. This is when you set the tone for how the organization will be run under your leadership.
Take advantage of all the attention and grab the opportunity to make a massive impact.
Let your team know who you are and communicate with employees regularly. Be visible, set expectations, and set an example.
Home of the free, because of the brave. To those in uniform serving today and to those who have served in the past, we honor you today and every day.
Success is really about making a difference not just for yourself, but also how you influence and make a difference to others.

Remote work isn't going away anytime soon. Adopt these positive practices so that you can be the best leader you can be in any setting and encourage others to do the same.
1. Exercise strong time management muscles -
Make sure you have clarity on who does what, until when, and where you can find finished work or work in progress. Ask for help if you find yourself under a to-do pile that is too big to handle and, by the same token, raise your hand if you have idle time and can assist others.
2. Stay connected -
Remote work is often associated with social isolation. People feel they are not part of the team anymore, they miss interacting with co-workers, and, over time, a strong feeling of loneliness creeps in. To avoid this downward spiral, make sure you schedule group chats or have a joint lunch session with some of your colleagues at work with your cameras on. For remote leaders, it's essential to touch base with each of your direct reports at least once a week to keep a sense of belonging and also to maintain (or improve) the trust level with your team members.
3. Be OK with letting go -
Remote work is a challenge by itself â and then it collides with something like homeschooling. If this is the case for you, remind yourself that you can't do everything perfectly and accept that you need to let go of a few things: Skip the perfect slide design if you need to be able to help your daughter upload her math homework. Have one of your team members facilitate the team meeting so you can support your son with his challenging chemistry experiment instead. And remember to prioritize yourself too. Turn off the camera and do some stretching exercises while being a listening-only participant in a live stream.
4. Spend time in nature -
Set aside time to take a daily, 30-minute stroll in the woods or a green space. Take your family with you, if possible. Make it a routine, for example right after lunch. Or have a walking call in the afternoon. You'll not only get some movement in but also likely be inspired and calmed by your surroundings.
5. Overcommunicate -
In remote settings, it's extremely critical that you get enough opportunities to talk to other human beings, not just by writing but by literally speaking to them "face to face" even if there is a screen in between you. In tough times, we need our real social network, even more, so make it a priority to interact with friends and family members via video chat.
