The youth triathlon teams represented! From Race Director Chris with NextGen Triathlon Club, to the awesome athletes and volunteers from Otter-Tri-Team and SelecTRI The Woodlands…it was a great group.

Here’s the winners of the June 2024 Shark Attack Anchor Award - Rampage Racing and Endurance-Coach Jeff Short! The Rampage team members not only put in some great races, but volunteered on the kayaks, helped at the finish, and cheered everyone on as they raced. Thank you Rampage!

The June 2024 Shark Attack is in the books! Here’s a big THANK YOU to everyone!! So many fun and amazing athletes raced and volunteered… from competitive triathletes and swimmers, to open water novices, to a high school swim team taking on a new challenge, to masters groups taking part in the USMS Grand Prix, to adaptive athletes, to fun and supportive triathlon teams, and to athletes with their own awesome cheering sections!

We saw friends and teammates cheer each other on at the finish and even spontaneously volunteer to kayak just to support their buddies! This is what open water swimming is all about. It was a great day and we can’t wait to do it again on October 13th!

Race Timeline:

Swimmers will be instructed to start entering the water 5 minutes before each race start (after you have checked in with race staff on the starting dock), one at a time by race distance and gender. (Times are estimated.)

7:00 am: Warm-up opens
a. 0.6 mi - Men start 7:30 am, women start 7:35 am (1 Loop)
b. 1.2 mi - Men start 8:10 am, women start 8:15 am (2 Loops)
c. 2.4 mi - Men start 9:20 am, women start 9:25 am (4 Loops)
