Let’s all give a heartfelt round of applause for our DPT-Northwest students of the month!

On August 4th, our newest cohort of DPT students from the Class of 2026 celebrated their White Coat Ceremony!!

It was a wonderful event filled with many inspiring speeches from the University President and Provost, the College Executive Vice Dean, and the Program Chair. The keynote speech was delivered by a physical therapist working locally in rural Oregon, Dr. Kerry Boysen.

Thank you to all the friends and family who were able to join in the celebration and support our students! Special thanks to the team behind the scenes that helped plan and implement the event so successfully.

In response to the recent devastating wildfire on Maui, WesternU Oregon Student Affairs is hosting a fundraiser event.

Please consider donating and/or joining us on Friday, Aug 25, 2023 on the front patio/grass of COMP-NW at noon.

Today, DPT 2026 learned about Lifestyle Medicine and engaged in activities related to the six pillars: nutrition, sleep, physical activity, stress management, social connection, and reduction of risky behaviors.

Thank you American College of Lifestyle Medicine for helping fund the fresh fruit for the nutrition station!!

Today our inaugural cohort, DPT 2024, begins their second full-time clinical experience.

Good luck to you all!! We can't wait to see you back on campus in October!!

Faculty member, Dr. Biltz, is representing Oregon in Washington DC this weekend at the American Physical Therapy Association House of Delegates!!

Some examples of motions being voted on this year include: allowing PTAs to serve as delegates, providing access to resources to screen for and address human trafficking, defining specialties and subspecialties in physical therapy, and creating resources related to community-based health promotion, injury prevention, and physical activity programs.
