We impulse bought this NC2 PRHT Auto car. Tossed on some BC’s and a set of wheels with some new rubber. Now the question is…. do we toss on our Fab9 GT kit and sell this thing? Anyone interested in some auto/boost content?
The auto trans has actually really impressed me from a performance standpoint. The actual auto mode does super well.

Huge, huge shout out to John. His 2.4L Fab9 EFR Turbo system equipped RX-8 is a spectacular piece of hardware. This man has put in some work with serious alterations/transmission conversions… impressive alone but this car has won this even back to back with two fairly different versions of his car.
Huge thank you to the folks that came out to see us at Miata’s at the Gap this weekend. We tuned 50+ cars this by the time we were packing up on Sunday.

We’ve finally got the time to drop a Fab9 2.4L Scalpel engine into the shop Fab9 EFR Turbo System demo car. Should be phenomenal. Little secret, a production Elite manifold will be installed on MONDAY. That means production units will be available for purchase soon. Keep ya eyes peeled.

I have not touched this car in 7 years. Broke the diff and it sat ever since.
A true relic is being resurrected. Most of our early customers recognize this car. This wasn’t my first Miata but it was something I put a lot of heart, passion and good old fashioned well documented work into. Most of those things I don’t have the capacity for, we’re very busy and I’m enjoying another phase of my life with my beautiful family.
These days when we walk a customer through ordering their engine internals, turbo system or book dyno time with a tuning client and I hear the excitement in their voice, BIG memories from my time building this car surface.
Cars aren’t stupid. They are a part of the our modern human experience and I find value in that. Anyways, big thanks to you guys for allowing us to be a part of yours. Keep an eye out for build updates on this rig!

It's been a busy year for turbo NC's. Today's remote session was Carlton’s NC1 2.5L Swapped turbo setup.
First pull after a couple of street revisions. Carltons car was pretty mechanically sound right off the rip. He did a great job with the installation which seemingly took 1 day.
First pull was 9psi and he made 304whp 300ft lbs. A fairly violent power output, not great for a track setup.
Boost down from 9 to as slower building lower peak of 7psi, running on wastegate to produce a slower WG action, we're still making great power 291whp 240ftlbs with a easier-on-the-rods power delivery.

Shipping starts today! These are WAY overdue on the NC chassis. The purpose of a harmonic balancer is to combat crankshaft harmonics using a counter-mass of some sort. From the factory Mazda/Ford used a bonded/static outer counter-mass that was tuned both in weight and rubber durometer to combat the specific frequencies produced by a stock 2.0L MZR engine.
You start wrapping RPMS or changing engine hardware and the accuracy starts to quickly decay. You swap to a 2.5L engine and install your old factory 2.0L balancer and all heck breaks loose. You're no longer working with enough mass to combat the aggressive harmonics of the 2.5L motor, and it's likely tuned for the wrong frequency on top of things.
This is where Fluidampr comes into play. It's a dynamic balancer with the counter-mass suspended by fluid. The mass is now free floating and will naturally cover you in an entire rev-range. The other neat component of this "suspended" counter-mass is that the entire weight of they pulley isn't fixed to the crankshaft. This acts somewhat as a "lightweight" crank pulley.
We just wrapped up validation on these last Thursday on our dyno in Michigan with the Fluidampr team. These are now shipping! An optional keyway feature will be added shortly as well.
As far as trigger configurations, the only completed version is the NC MX-5 and Mazda trigger patters, Ford versions will be live as soon as we finish the drawings.

We've been working around the trickery of fueling limitations and finally implemented some pretty neat tricks to keep boost in check. What you see here is the reality of owning this system without supplemental fueling.
The tuning now has literally hundreds of hours in it, including custom patching to allow for more accurate throttling. Once this becomes available to our end users, a massive slew of calibrations will be re-distributed using the exact file that's being used on this car. I suspect this means our ND2 customers will gain somewhere around 25whp with just the update. You know, like Tesla does it.
