To say this weekend was great is a complete understatement.
I have THE best graduating class EVER! We are more than just simple classmates we once knew.
We are a family! OHANA!!!!

We were a graduating class of almost 1000 students and I can say without a doubt that I love each and every one of them with all my heart!

This weekend was definitely a top 10 and I am the luckiest woman to have such an amazing, beautiful and ageless group of friends that are Painite in a world full of diamonds! Part 1 of 3 or 4

I’m sitting here at the DMV waiting for my turn… and a knot in my throat develops. Being alone with my thoughts sucks. All I want to do is scream in anger and sadness… I miss my cousin, my sister and my friend.
They asked me to fill out a form and I needed to put down 2 emergency contacts. Jeff is obviously the first but Cynthia Amado-López was always my second. I always had this consolation that if anything ever happened she would watch my boys and make sure my fur babies were taken care of while my sister and parents could get down to us bc that is exactly the kind of person she was.
We spoke several times a week but messaged daily whether it was through text, messenger or DM. She was one of my everyday people. When I would call or text her she would call me Bruja bc she was literally thinking of me. That was the kind of connection we had.
I have no idea how I am ever going to get passed this. And if I am having this hard of a time, I cannot even imagine what her babies are going through.

Today, the women of my town, Cahabon, Guatemala dress up in indigenous clothing. This is in celebration of, Día de la Virgen de Guadalupe. In my town it is called día de las Shigualas. I was extremely young when I remember partaking in this tradition, however, it has been one of the core memories I carry with me. Every year I say that I will dress up even from afar and never do so… that was until this year. I only wore one of my huipil’s that I have with pants. This was enough for me to feel connected with my town. My mother is currently visiting in Guatemala and was at the festivities… She looks beyond beautiful!

Grog’s (Grogu) Pupdate! He is 4 months old and we have had him for 2 months and 2 days. He is an awesome dog. Sure he tries to eat the tootsie roll’s the cats leave in the litter box but aside from that he is everything anyone could have asked for in a puppy.
I noticed a few weeks ago he actually smiles too. When I call for him he gets so excited that he pulls those ears back and shows me his front teeth smiling in his own way. So cute! He lost a few teeth and more than likely ate them BUT I was able to save 1!!! Woohoo! Also, we still have no clue what he is but at the end of the day it doesn’t matter because it changes nothing on how much we all love him.

Today I had to do something that no one ever wants to have to do. I had to put my eldest kitty, 16 years old down. I made the appointment last not sure what to expect but also expecting the worse. 16 years of hers and my life literally like a blink of an eye. 16 years of her and I growing up. 16 years of having people coming in and out of our lives. 16 years of us moving and bettering our situation. 16 years of us losing our closest fur friends. 16 years of tears. 16 years of always having each other and having love for each other no matter what.
I have had to put down a total 6 cats, including her in my 37 years. All I can say it hurts every single time and it definitely doesn’t get any easier. Why do I keep adopting knowing that they eventually will get old and I will have to go through this again? Because I would rather be able to give a shelter fur baby a warm and loving home for their entire lives. A long time ago I read an article that only 1 out of every 9 cats will find a forever home. I want to beat those odds and I am. Foxy really hated everyone except for me. She was mine and I was hers. I am forever grateful that I was able to be the human she chose to trust and love. But now, she is over the rainbow bridge with my other kitties. Until we meet again.

Hurricane Julia May not have impacted Guatemala head on but the torrential down pour has effected the closest city, Coban, to my town. Praying for all of those that are being effected by all these natural disasters. Below are pictures sent to me by my niece who lives in the outskirts of the city.

Grogu week pupdate!

We are officially dewormed, have no fleas and or flea dirt, we learned to walk on a leash and are slowly learning how to smell like all dogs do on their walks.
He is officially no longer scared of coming back into the house from the backyard. He was extremely weary about entering the house which is bananas to me.
Nibbler the best and oldest of pups took to him like he was part of the family from the beginning. Hermes just wanted to play with him and Grogu is still a bit scared of Hermes because of his size. Tinny officially started to play with him this morning. She was not sure what to make of him.

Thank you everyone for the birthday wishes! Always appreciative of every single one of you. I truly wish and hope that each and every single one of you is having a peaceful and happy December. Today was a completely uneventful day which is my absolute favorite! Got to hang out with my favorite little humans that I made, created and crafted up a new product, got my free birthday coffee from Starbucks and tried the tree leches pumpkin cake from H‑E‑B… which was okay. Hugs to every single one of you and truly sending my love to all!

Nothing like the true pure love between (or brothers). These two are ridiculously talented in everything they decide to do, they are ridiculously gorgeous and honestly their dynamic together is one of a kind.
