The K4 250 is considered by Kayo as a mid-level dirt bike. It has a 250cc air-cooled 4-stroke engine with a 5-speed transmission and electric start. The front and rear tires are similar in size to that of other popular 250 models, 80/100-21 and 110/90-19.
It holds 1.77 gallons of fuel, weighs 231lbs, has a seat height of 36.5 inches, a wheelbase of 56.5 inches, and ground clearance of 13 inches. This bike is likely more tailored for the woods (or street) than a motocross track as it comes with a headlight and tail light directly from Kayo.
Kayo does say one of its focuses with its bikes is to be affordable, and we’d say this fits that description. The suspension system was also very impressive, providing a smooth and comfortable ride even on the most challenging terrain.
In terms of handling, the Kayo K4 250 is a dream to ride. The responsive throttle, precise steering, and stable handling – all worked together to provide a confident and enjoyable ride, whether we were racing or just out for a leisurely ride.
Another great thing about this bike is its durability. The high-quality components and construction ensure that it can handle even the harshest conditions, so you don’t have to worry about it breaking down on you. We climbed a pretty steep hill with one of the worst road conditions possible, but our bike performed well, minus a few minor issues. Ducati’s middleweight superbike gets a significant upgrade for 2011, further separating itself from the confines of established sportbike categories.
It’s already 17 years since the first small-bore Ducati 4-valve superbike, the 748, broke cover – the same year as the iconic 916, in 1994. The 748 played a background second fiddle to the beloved 916 series until the 749 emerged in 2003. A close relation to the aesthetically challenged 999, the 749 continued to be a relatively low-cost entre into Ducati’s superbike family and competed against the Japanese 600s in supersport competition. Well, Ducati has upped the ante again with the 848 EVO, bringing along extra horsepower, improved brakes and fitment of a standard steering damper. At the intake side, the fuel-injection’s throttle body size jumps from 56mm to 60mm and feeds fuel into optimized intake ports. New cams offer increased valve lift on both the intake and exhaust sides. A revised combustion chamber and new pistons bump the compression ratio from 12.1 to a high 13.2:1. The 90-degree V-Twin’s rev ceiling has been lifted 500 revs to 11,300 rpm, and heat generated from the extra revs is dissipated by new ventilated timing belt covers. The EVO responds with enthusiasm when dialing on the power with an open track ahead, revving with an urgency above 9000 rpm the old bike lacked. It pulls so well up top that a rider needs to be conscious of the shift lights to engage the next gear before the rev limiter kicks in. With shifts timed accurately, the EVO is fully capable of cutting fast laps – quicker on many tracks than the 600s. The 2013 year is big for Honda scooters. First, the Metropolitan gets EFI, greatly improving the scooter’s diminutive 50cc motor. Now, we get the new 2013 Honda PCX150 scooter, replacing the 125cc version and creating a motor vehicle with much greater utility and fun. Most important, of course, is the nearly perfectly square 153cc motor. By upping the displacement, the PCX150 is now freeway capable (check your local requirements). Stability is good, with the 14-inch tires and nearly 52-inch wheelbase. Still, freeway riding is not what the PCX150 is about. Small scooters work great in heavily trafficked urban areas. However, once you find your way to the suburbs where the roads are wider, less crowded and have higher speed limits than 35 mph, more power is needed. That’s where the 2013 Honda PCX150 comes in. Up to 55 mph, the Honda PCX150 does fine. Sure, acceleration starts to flatten out at 35 mph or so, but it gets there fairly quickly. That means you don’t have to worry about getting in the way coming away from stop lights in busy, impatient traffic. You can twist the throttle and put most traffic in the PCX150’s effective rear view mirrors. The EFI works flawlessly on the PCX150, which is an worldwide model made in Thailand. The fully automatic V-Matic belt-converter transmission is also perfect in operation. Working together, Honda claims over 100 mpg for the scooter, and it has a 1.6-gallon tank. Seat padding has been improved for 2013-not a big deal, but the seat is comfortable and sits a manageable 30 inches high. The passenger will definitely be happy.
