Sorry this isn’t about hair. Just sharing.

When you are ill (thankfully recovering well) i have found it to be a great time of reflection. I have been able to “see” a few things.
One of the things i think God wanted me to see is that my girls really do love me and do their best to honor me.
I don’t know if anyone out there is a “girl” mom. But baabaay! Those waters can get rough especially as you navigate adulthood. A place they nor I have been with each other before. I’m learning to respect boundaries and to trust in Proverbs 22:6 .
I know I did my best but even that is not enough. Jehovah God can use others to help set the mold. He himself will polish the work for his purposes if they allow it. I needed to see that He SAW what I needed. He saw I needed to know my children see me and they love me anyway.
They have listened to me and taken good care of me when sick. Brought me flowers when I was down and stop what they are doing to listen to me perhaps tell the same story or issue over again because maybe I forgot I said it already.
That Menopause will mess you up a little 🤣.
I’m so happy to know I have friends. I’m no longer needed to direct but to guide and support. Yes, I may forget sometimes ….you know that’s mom life.
But they will gently remind me.
It makes me want to be an even better mom and set a good example for my grandson.

In this era of “The Blonde Baddie”, we have transitioned from many “blondes” and tones. As you can see from the last slide I still had a lot of yellow tones in the hair. For me, this was an unwanted tone. But to completely remove that level. It really needed one more level of lift.
And honestly, my hair at that length and condition simply could not take it.
So is it possible to maintain the blonde at longer lengths?
Absolutely, it depends on how it’s done and maintained.
I wasn’t really trying to do all that!
So this was what I decided fits my new lifestyle. I’ve always been high maintenance but with a lot less hair it works. What is more, I get the level of blonde and tone that I want!

So I decided to take my BIG CHOP to the next level.
But honestly, my first thought was let me lose a few pounds first. Let we wait till I turn 50.

Well after serious meditation, I decided I’m not promised tomorrow. And cut the hair…lose the weight.

I haven’t been in a Taper for years! So I feel like I am relearning my hair all over again.
Especially with the added dimension of color.
What I love about them. Is that the shape as it grows out, is just so doggone caaaauuuttte!

Let me be clear... This post is for the purposes only.
Just wanted to share a little somethin' somethin'...

I was supposed to be the pixie chick! I had taken cutting and styling classes to perfect my craft.

But since I was natural more than I was relaxed. I kept attracting naturals as well.
My skillset for cutting were strong, but now I had to apply them in a whole new way.

I had to start a new skillset in order to pivot.

In 2018, I joined the "Digital Salon" better known as "See Some Curls" now.
I needed to get my own hair down pat before I could help others.
Plus, I wasn't sure if knew what they were talking about.

Intrigued with the information and the audacity, I started asking questions in the consumer space that got me politely shown the door .
They quickly let me know that professional questions would be answered in the platform for stylists.

I honestly didn't have the money. Aeleise said...and that's exactly why you need to be over there.

Needless to say, I got my WHOLE business snatched along with my technical skillset. And I have not looked back....at least mostly.

Thank you! ...many people are scared to give credit because they think it diminishes their credibility.
I feel no need to recreate the wheel. When others have forged the foundation. Why not stand on it?

Isn't that what we all are doing right now?

The Big Chop for many is still very scary. Let's be honest. There are many who have difficulty seeing themselves as attractive with a TWA.

There are five things I have found that must be on board to pull this look off BEFORE
moving forward.

1. A change in mindset as to what "pretty" is to YOU!

2. Develop a self-confidence that emanates from within. Not allowing temporary feelings of doubt (which we all have) and opinions of others define you.

3. A clear plan of action for styling.

4. Hair Goals....because this hair will not be a TWA for long!

5. A Dope Cut is a must..
We are not just out here..... Every step in the journey has intention.
