In light of the disturbing events that took place last night (early morning) , I wanted to first express my/our sincerest thoughts and prayers for the victims, especially the customer who is in critical condition fighting for his/her life. You are in our prayers. 🙏
Secondly, I would like to take this moment to assure ALL of our customers, staff and entertainers that YOUR safety is our #1 priority, and we take it extremely seriously: with over 50 cameras in and around the premises, wand screening of people at the door with a metal detector to prohibit guns, knives and weapons of any sort to enter our premises. We are a 21 and older club allowing for entry, NOT 18. We have minimum 5 staff that works in a security capacity, each trained thoroughly which equates roughly to one staff member per 7 customers on average. We also accompany each entertainer to and from their vehicles at night.
I take pride in my staff that have prohibited, in my 40+ years in the industry, NO shootings, stabbings and minimal if any violence with abusive behavior or intoxicated individuals. This is not meant to discriminate against a local club, we wish them the best, but I am personally offended that they've been negligent in their operating procedures to allow such a heinous violent crime to happen in their establishment. I'm keenly aware that incidents happen beyond our scope of control, but week TWO of operations, is negligent IMHO.
PARAMOUNT in our industry should be the safety of our patrons, staff and entertainers (reiterated) and I would be happy to meet with the new owners to review and discuss the precautions and measures we enact so that we can all provide a secure, comfortable and enjoyable outing by our patrons regardless of which establishment they choose to frequent.
