Kritters Krew, we are so excited. Several months ago we applied for a grant to help us start a spay/neuter program in partnership with Greater Androscoggin Humane Society . Look what we got in the mail today. $15,000 for a spay/neuter program for Tree Street residents.

Thank you Maine Community Foundation! This will help so many families in the Tree Streets Neighborhood of Lewiston.

We can't wait to get started.

When I shared this photo just over a year ago, it caused a lot of stir on the internet.
People were mad. I was called names, I was accused of mistreating my dog, and I was told repeatedly that if my dog couldn’t handle being greeted by another, he had no business leaving my home.

I know this topic can be a sensitive one, so I was ready for some difference in opinions.

What I didn’t prepare for was the entitlement. The blatant selfishness. The loathing directed at me because my dog has different boundaries than someone else’s.

I feel that this topic is an incredibly important one to talk about. These dogs, the ones who need some extra space deserve to have someone to speak up on their behalf.
So I will continue to be that voice.

Kommunity Kritters we will be closed tomorrow. But we will also be closed Friday because we will be at Lewiston Auburn Riverfest 2023 all weekend.

Kommunity Kritters a reminder tomorrow is July 4th holiday. The pantry will be closed. But we be open Wed-Fri this week. And we are open today! Be safe!

Kommunity Kritters was so happy to be able to help Safe Voices this week. We were able to provide food, litter, snacks, toys, and flea and tick treatments for cats and dogs. Safe Voices understands, like we do, that our pets are so important to our safety, our mental health, and our physical health.

They allow residents to bring their pets with them to shelters. This means someone doesn't have to stay in an abusive and/or dangerous situation because they can't take their pets with them. How many lives of humans and their pets do you think this has saved?

Kommunity Kritters will continue to partner with Safe Voices and other non-profits that request our help when it comes to pets.

Toby the parrot came to visit us today. He is 33 years old. Very handsome guy. We were able to provide parrot food for Toby.

Shout out to Kaydenz Resale Closet - Benefiting Kaydenz Kitchen Food Pantry and Megan Parks and everyone else that put together the presentation for the LATR. You guys did an awesome job with the facts, answering questions, and making your points. Kommunity Kritters Fan Group supports this endeavor 100% and our future goals are to work with places like what was presented to offical City of Lewiston, Maine city council last night.
