Last Saturday, I had the pleasure of meeting so many dog lovers interested in purchasing a pet portrait for themselves and for holiday gifts. It’s going to be a busy rest of the year with art commissions. I’m posing with my dear friend Persey who is representing our local art association here in Simi valley.

Who doesn’t love owls?

This is a painting I did of a service dog named Piper. The painting was purchased as a birthday gift for her boyfriend. Thank you, Michelle for trusting me with your pet portraits commissions through the years. This piece was delivered to Norway, Maine not far from my childhood home. This is a Pastel Painting combined with acrylic to create the texture and softness you see in it. It is 18x24 on a pastel board. The People's Choice Spring Art Show through Simi Valley Art Association starts March 25 and ends April 26. You are encouraged to walk in and vote for your favorite paintings anytime through April 10. I did years ago in Hawaii and I’ll never forget the experience. This is a painting I created recently next to the photo I took of it. Once it finally dries, it will be framed, entered in an art show and I will enjoy it in my home or sold.

I’m excited to share my finished painting with you. This is a 16x20 pastel piece mixed with acrylic. It is different than wet paint as it’s a rich combo between clay and chalk. My pastels are handmade and offers the most amazing soft hues. It was a joy to paint Nena, my beloved girl.

I offer pet portraits in acrylic and pastel and most often, I combine the 2 for dramatic affects. Message me for details.
