April is Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month (SAAPM) and provides an opportunity for the Army to highlight the Army’s Sexual Harassment, Assault Response and Prevention (SHARP) program and bring attention to victim support, awareness and reporting.

USACAPOC(A) took the time this week to conduct annual refresher training, talk about doing what is right, and offering tips to for intervention when you see a threat to the team.

The 345th conducted various training on U.S. Army Fort Cavazos over the weekend (March 21-24) to include various Battle Drills, M240 familiarization and qualification; and audio deception exercises.

⭐TRIVIA TUESDAY ANSWER⭐

The 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th Mobile Radio Broadcasting Companies (MRBC) were the first tactical PSYWAR units formed. The were activated at Camp Ritchie, Maryland in December 1943 and deployed to Europe in the spring of 1944. The 6808th Publicity and Psychological Warfare Service Battalion was activated as well; three months later it was reorganized as the 72nd Publicity Service Battalion.

To round out the year here's a quick recap of our unit's adventures in 2023. In February we sent a Tactical Detachment to Thailand as part of Exercise Cobra Gold where we formed great partnerships with the USMC and SMART Soldiers Strong ARMY. We said farewell to former 17th Psychological Operations Battalion Commander LTC Ted Jacobs in March in the best way possible! By jumping out of a perfectly good helicopter. In the summer we spent our Annual Training building our team's and had the opportunity to send our own SGT Louis Rubin to France as part of the 79th Anniversary of the D-Day landings. Capping off the year was yet another successful Operation Toy Drop where our continued to demonstrate their interoperability with our international partners.

In 2024 we're looking forward to the next mission. Whether real world or tough, realistic training done safely we thank our servicemembers and their families for remaining dedicated to achieving the mission.

Did you know that the first Special Forces Group was the 10th Special Forces Group - Airborne activated on June 11, 1952 under the Psychological Warfare Center?

As PSYOP Soldiers it is our duty to maintain proficiency both on and off the battlefield.

Soldiers with the 345th PSYOP Company attended various training over the weekend to include M240B/M4 operation and familiarization, various discipline regarding PSYOP doctrine, and Airborne operation.

Remembering our fallen sister. SGT Jamie M. Michalsky.

Killed: 23 OCT 2004 - Afghanistan War

SGT Michalsky was a tactical PSYOP team chief (MOS 37F3P) assigned to the 345th Psychological Operations Company (Airborne), 17th Psychological Operations Battalion, 7th Psychological Operations Group. In 2003 in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, SGT Michalsky was activated and deployed with the 345th PSYOP CO (A) to Afghanistan. At the completion of the combat tour, she remained behind to work as a contractor performing translating duties in Uzbekistan. While in Kabul, Afghanistan to receive medical treatment, Jamie, an Afghan civilian, and three Icelandic soldiers were mortally wounded when an insurgent disguised as a street beggar, attacked a group of nearby NATO troops with a su***de bomber vest.

These Soldiers received Army Achievement Medals and challenge coins for exemplary performance during Operation Warfighter at Fort Cavazos and Operation Cobra Gold in Thailand.

Congratulations to CPT Adel Hussain who graduated from the PSYOP Qualification Course (POQC) earlier this week. CPT Hussain is one of two reserve officers who attended the 10-week active duty course at John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center & School, training alongside servicemembers from US Army SOF, US Marine Corps, and allied military personnel from the Philippines, Slovakia, Pakistan, and Ukraine.

CPT Hussain is the current Detachment OIC of PSYDET 1750 having served in 345th POC since August 2021.
