What method do you prefer?

The California Redwood Association suggests combining:

🥛 1 cup trisodium phosphate (TSP)
🥛 1 cup household bleach mixed with one gallon of water

➡️ Apply the mixture, scrub with a stiff bristle brush, and rinse well. After cleaning, use an oxalic acid brightener to eliminate discoloration.

👉 1-3 yrs on horizontal surfaces
👆 3-5 years on vertical surfaces

To properly maintain your wood, we recommend a light cleaning and recoat every 2 years on horizontal surfaces and every 3-4 years on vertical surfaces!

When we say “light cleaning,” we mean your surface must be clean of mildew, dust, dirt, oil, and grease. 🫧

We recommend a 1:1 bleach-to-water solution to clean your wood. Rinse thoroughly with water twice, allowing at least 48-72 hours of drying time (maybe more) before reapplying.
