1. Alodia's Cucina Italiana, their second location is in Lexington, 101 W Main Street. In True Italian cooking has always had a place, and Alodia's Cucina Italiana has been feeding tummies with Italian dishes and Southern friendliness. It doesn't get any better than that.

The menu includes all of your favorite Italian foods and more. To whet your appetite for the seafood risotto, duck penne gorgonzola, or baked ziti with Italian sausage. Start with the calamari fritti and bruschetta. The dishes can be combined with wine or cocktails; simply ask for recommendations from the staff to find the right match.

2. Bodhi Thai Dining, 126 E Main Street. A dedicated and innovative chef attempts to create a unique culinary experience for locals and guests alike at a restaurant tucked into a former bank in the heart of Lexington, South Carolina. Bodhi Thai Dining delivers traditional Thai flavor with an elegant, modern twist, and is known for its attractive ambiance and artful presentation of its menu items.

The restaurant sources local ingredients and even has its own organic garden to reflect this. Tipvaree, the chef, combines cooking techniques from many cultures, such as French and Italian, with Thai flavors and spices to create a unique menu he refers to as a "contemporary take on Thai."

3. Creekside Restaurant 711 E Main Street. This modest eatery, housed in a historic mill, serves homestyle American breakfast and lunch. This is one of those fantastic "hole in the wall" neighborhood establishments. The staff is courteous and efficient. The owner works in the kitchen and is always making it the right way.

4. Libby's of Lexington 116 W Main Street. The idea for Libby's began with pizza and Philly cheese steaks, but the menu has now grown to include what the patrons want - lowcountry cooking and everything in between. Since its inception in 2010, Libby's has expanded its menu to include a wide variety of foods. The Carolina Ruben, Bourbon BBQ Shrimp, Low Country Chicken Wrap, and Shrimp Po Boy are all must-orders.

When salmon, scallops, and other seafoods are in season, they appear on the menu with bruschetta or as the main element in soups and salads. Libby's is the type of restaurant where you can have as many alternatives as your hungry stomach can manage.

5. Private Property, 220 W Main Street. This casual dining restaurant is all about Cajun and country cuisine which captures the authentic Southern lifestyle. Private Property has a fine dining feel to it, although the cuisine is not arrogant. The wonderful choices, which range from comfort dishes to daring Southern fusion, are something to write home about.

The seafood jambalaya and shrimp and grits, both with Cajun and Creole characteristics, are not to be missed. The charred pork chop, rib, and alligator are all excellent choices for robust fare, with plenty of wine and cocktails to wash it all down. The menu undoubtedly reflects the owners' passion for New Orleans and Lexington.
