Two decades ago, we embarked on a journey to foster equitable access to high-quality, tuition-free music instruction. Since then, we've been tirelessly working to provide over 50,000 free music lessons to over 1,500 students! This wouldn't be possible without the unwavering support of our incredible supporters and donors! We are excited to look forward to the next 20 years of making a difference! 🎶🎼🎵

At Central Music Academy, our students are our top priority. We're dedicated to providing a nurturing and inspiring environment for our students to learn and grow. Our Executive Director Erin Walker Bliss recently attended Lollapalooza in Chicago to learn about facilitating kids' drum circles with in the festival's Kidzapalooza section! The founder, John Yost, mentored Erin throughout the weekend, preparing her to lead larger drum circles at CMA. We are so excited that later this year, our students will have access to expanded group drumming programs! 🪘🎶

Picnic with the Pops returns Saturday, August 10 to Keene Meadow featuring “The Kings, Queens, & Prince of Rock." With hits from Elvis, Michael Jackson, Queen, Tina Turner and Prince, performed alongside Lexington Philharmonic! Thank you to office of Mayor Linda Gorton and to Lexington Picnic with the Pops for providing tickets for CMA students. 🎟️ Don't forget to purchase your tickets!

We had a wonderful time hosting the CMA Instrument Petting Zoo in partnership with LexArts Cultural Pass last night! Participants were able to try a variety of instruments and create music related crafts.

LexArts Cultural Pass provides K-12 students free access to arts, culture, and heritage venues and activities. The Central Music Academy will host an open-house instrument petting zoo in our building where children can play a variety of instruments on July 10 from 3-5. Register here:

CMA is proud to announce we received a grant from the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels (HOKC) to purchase drums, bells, and an assortment of hand percussion accessories! HOKC awarded $2.5 million in grants supporting 325 non-profits, impacting more than 3.9 million Kentuckians and we are thankful to be a recipient!

LexArts Cultural Pass provides K-12 students free access to arts, culture, and heritage venues and activities across Fayette County.
