✨This 3-week series covers the classical definition of Kriya Yoga (tapas, swadhyaya, and isvara pranidhana) where we will unpack the paths of action, study, and devotion as defined by The Yoga Sutras. Gabriel will articulate yoga philosophy through 3 of the sacred scriptures that have guided practitioners for centuries: the Upanishads, the Yoga Sutras, and the Bhagavad Gita. Each class will begin with a dharma discourse to clarify the yogic path, followed by a well-thought-out sequence to energize and tranquilize your nervous system. Talk alone is not enough... see you on the mat!
✨Thank you, Rich Logan, for a fantastic weekend of learning and growing! Yoga practitioners spent over 12 hours diving deeper into yogic concepts for inner peace and well-being. Yoga philosophy, inverted poses, backbends, twisting poses, and restorative practices helped practitioners understand the mind/body/spirit connection and feel more balanced. (we also learned how to strike a dance pose for the camera 🤗😉).
✨Rich is a skilled and highly experienced master-level yoga teacher and brings a lighthearted sense of joy to all of his classes and trainings.

✨Metaphor is a beautiful thing! The lotus flower thrives and grows in murky pond water and is a timeless symbol of the hardships and challenges we must face. Much like the stem emerging through the muddy water, we also grow through our difficulties, learning lessons, removing obstacles, and overcoming adversities. As the petals unfold, we, too, unfold and become like a lotus rising from the murky waters and flowering into something beautiful.
✨The lotus seeds, containing perfectly formed leaves, symbolize our potential.
✨Its flexible stem symbolizes our resilience.
✨The lotus growth represents never giving up.
✨The blossom represents enlightenment, awareness, and beauty.
✨At night, the flower closes and sinks -- the next day, it emerges with the light representing cleansing and renewal.
✨A similar growth metaphor is that of the oyster with some sand lodged inside. The sand creates "difficulty" for the oyster, which in turn creates a gorgeous pearl. With the setback of dealing with the sand inside its shell, the oyster could never have created a beautiful thing.

🌟Meditation practice is an art and discipline centered around focusing on a chosen object or higher ideal for a designated time. Through practice, we learn to observe our minds and the thoughts that arise, including distractions, daydreams, and bodily sensations. By observing the mind itself, the contents of the mind are revealed. When we know what’s there, we can redirect our mind and perhaps make it calmer.
🌟Anitha will delve into various tools drawn from spiritual traditions to aid in meditation. We explore simple asana (posture) practices to bring comfort to the body, utilize breath work to turn our awareness inward, employ chants to hone our attention to a single point, and finally, we’ll rest in the stillness of the mind.
🌟This framework provides an accessible pathway for gradually entering into a state of natural tranquility and connecting with our true selves (which is the goal of yoga!).

🌟HOW?: The vitamin C in lemons are good for reducing the effects of chronic stress by being directly involved in the production of the stress hormone cortisol in the adrenals. Being under chronic stress is a common consequence is adrenal fatigue. This condition shows up as a depletion of hormones that causes fatigue, body aches, low blood pressure, lightheadedness, and more. Therefore, vitamin C is essential for the recovery of the adrenal glands. Plus, staying hydrated carries myriad health benefits!

We're thrilled to share some exciting news with you! TBY Yoga is moving into our very own studio space after two and a half years inside the Life Force Health Center. We're grateful for our time there, but it's time for us to have a place we can call our own. Our new studio is currently being remodeled and, if everything goes according to plan, we'll start hosting classes at the new location on Monday, April 1st!
We're happy to announce our new location at 1590 S. Milwaukee Ave. Suite 223 in Libertyville, right across from Trader Joe's inside the Hilltop Executive Center. Not only is this a prime spot, but it also makes it easy for you to access covered parking and gather in the lobby before and after class. This move gives us the autonomy to offer you even more special events and ways to help you learn and grow as a yoga student.
We're excited to share this next chapter with you and can't wait for you to experience our new space. Join us for our last day inside our current place on Sunday, March 31st, and then come see us at our new studio starting April 1st!

The tornado that tore the roof of a Mundelein apartment building has left nearly 60 people without a place to call home. They are currently being housed in an American Red Cross Shelter at the Community Protestant Church.
We are partnering with Lululemon in Lake Forest to collect items needed to help displaced families.

⭐Build a healthy habit of cultivating stillness and self-awareness through meditation. In this 2-part experience, you will learn proper body positions and breathing techniques. Also, explore the concepts of love and forgiveness, unconditional love, the chakras, mantras, and much more! By the end of the third session, you will feel comfortable developing your home sadhana (spiritual practice) and sticking with it. We strongly recommend attending both sessions, but you may also attend just one.
⭐Tyadg is a former professional hockey player who was introduced to meditation through Sports Psychology at a young age. This practice ended up changing the course of his life to the point where he retired mid-career to live in an ashram in Northern Canada. He has since worked with and taught meditation to various groups including at-risk youth, Indigenous Nations, professional hockey players, and other high-level athletes. Tyadg has a lot of experience teaching raw beginners from all walks of life as well as experienced meditators looking to deepen their practice.

Sanskrit for "fearless heart seal" this mudra can be called upon in difficult times. Abhaya Hridaya Mudra helps to eliminate fear and ignite courage, reminding students of their inner power. It's an empowering gesture, drawing forward the strength of one's true nature. (Goal of yoga: to understand one's true nature!)
