THE ART OF ACTING: A Journey at Improv Playhouse Performing Arts Acting Camp: Yes...another post wrapping up our incredible summer where acting was brought to life by our talented young campers. Over several 2-wk sessions this summer., they immersed themselves in a world of imagination, honing their improvisational skills and diving deep into character development. WHAT ACTING CAMPERS EXPERIENCED: IMPROVISATION SKILLS: Our campers learned to think on their feet, building confidence and spontaneity. CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT: Through dedicated workshops, they explored what makes characters unique and how to portray them authentically. FULL PRODUCTION EXPERIENCE: At the end of each camp, they showcased their talents in a simple-scale productions, bringing their hard work and creativity to the stage.
Our COUNSELOR-DIRECTORS were amazing, creating an environment that supported each child, ensuring they had fun while mastering the craft of acting. Many of these campers are now launching their journeys in the performing arts, right here at Improv Playhouse. A WONDERFUL OPPORTUNITY: After the challenges of the pandemic, it was heartening to relaunch these camps and provide a space for young actors to flourish. It's no wonder Improv Playhouse Performing Arts Camps made Newsweek Magazine's Best Summer Camps list of 2024! GREAT MEMORIES: What a memorable and enriching experience it has been. Thank you to everyone who made this possible!

Another enchanting night of laughter in downtown Libertyville! Improv Playhouse once again became the epicenter of amusement and community, with both improv comedy shows drawing in crowds eager for an evening of joy and guffaws. Our Main Stage improv teams delivered performances brimming with wit and spontaneity, leaving no funny bone untickled. The atmosphere was electric, and the audience's laughter echoed through the night, proving once again that live comedy is the heartbeat of our community, the burbs and Chicagoland region.
