Shane and Jake stopped for a snack at Touch of Europe in the Central District Lima. It was great to talk with Neli and learn her passion about baking! She proudly bakes every day from scratch using the best ingredients. The flour is unbleached; most of the items are low-sugar. It's been a long trip from Bulgaria to Lima, Ohio (with a few detours in London, Chicago and California). Before owning this business, Neli taught mechanical engineering and served as a social worker.

Where is Jake? We recently visited another Lima business that has served our community for many years—Yazel's Flowers & Gifts. Suzanne Hollenbacher officially entered the flower business two years ago after a career in healthcare administration. Prior to owning and running a floral shop, she loved delivering flowers—“In my previous job I often had to deliver bad news. Delivering flowers was a way I got to bring good news!” And believe it or not, she began by volunteering to deliver flowers on Valentine’s Day for a florist back in Michigan.

Victoria A Kimmel brought a new Kia EV9 to BNI LIMA OHIO this morning. What a cool ride! Matte paint, massaging seats, quality leather and a very shiny display. Kia has come a long way! It was also cool to hear some of the ways Lima Kia is showing some care in our community.

Jake and Shane had a great time sampling cookies at plush_cookie_company. This all began with LaFawn’s passion to influence and mentor young girls. As good as these cookies are, her real passion is the Plush Girls’ Spa…it’s attached to the bakery here in Lima. She loves building young girls’ self-esteem.

Stop in and try some of their gourmet cookies—they are amazing. Shane brought chocolate chip, lemon, banana pudding, and sugar cookies back to the office and we destroyed them.
