Lima Rescue Mission
Providing physical and spiritual care in a time of crisis. Proclaiming the Gospel since 1906.
You can help us prepare for next summer at Camp Roberts! Kids love using swim goggles, but they don't last forever. Now is a good time to pick some up as they are on sale at most stores that still have them. Donations of items like this are always welcome!
Please join us as we invest in the lives of children through our after school ministry!

"...but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ."
—2 Peter 3:18a
We are excited to announce the return of our after school children's ministry starting next month! We'll have more information to share in the near future, but for now we are asking for a couple of things: 1) Your prayers as we are now working to put everything in place, and 2) Your consideration of financial support for this vital ministry.
Activities will take place at Camp Roberts and will include crafts and games, time for homework, a meal, and a Bible lesson. For now, children will be able to participate one day a week and one Saturday each month.
Through these activities, we will be building and maintaining personal connections, providing safe haven, and teaching biblical principles to kids who may be facing adversity. Thank you for your investment in this ministry!

In the 1970s we purchased what we called the Mobile Chapel—a motorhome that was outfitted with pews. We drove to different neighborhoods during the week and proclaimed the gospel to children after school. Although the Mobile Chapel and Children's Chapel ministries ended years ago, we have thankfully been able to continue our Camp Roberts summer ministry. Please pray with us as we seek to resume after school children's ministry and maintain a connection with kids in need and their families.

While looking through some old newsletters, we found this written in 1973 in reference to plans to establish our Camp Roberts ministry:
"Over the years it has been the purpose of those connected with Lima Rescue Mission to use all the resources at the Mission's disposal to spread the gospel in every way possible."
Our goal today is the same—keep the truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ at the center of everything we do and proclaim that truth to others. Without that, our work is meaningless.
And Jesus answered and said to them, “It is not those who are well who need a physician, but those who are sick. I have not come to call the righteous but sinners to repentance.”
—Luke 5:31-32
We are currently in need of:

Search me, O God, and know my heart;
Try me and know my anxious thoughts;
And see if there be any hurtful way in me,
And lead me in the everlasting way.
—Psalm 139:23-24
Last day of camp! 😢
This week our campers have been learning to read the Bible!
We recently completed a map of trails through the woods at Camp Roberts. The kids have had a lot of fun going on hikes and visiting the creek this summer!
Last night our camp director, Amber, shared with our board members and their wives about the ministry taking place this summer at Camp Roberts. We are thankful for our camp staff and their hard work and dedication! We appreciate your continued prayers and support for this ministry.
Create in me a clean heart, O God,
And renew a steadfast spirit within me.
—Psalm 51:10
Someone recently shared an interesting quote about our founder, Rev. Adam Welty: "With all his hard work at the Mission that he had downtown, he found time to visit and call on about every home in south Lima. He and his family of five children would come to church with a basket lunch. He was janitor, special singer, organist, and preacher. I am looking forward to meeting him in heaven."
Whether it is children at Camp Roberts or men at the Mission, many are being reached with the gospel of Jesus Christ. People everywhere and in every condition need to hear the gospel, and we have been given a command to share it. Your faithful support allows that to happen—and it has an eternal impact. Thank you for considering a gift that will support our ministry this summer!
Make a Difference Your gift helps reach others in a time of need
The grass withers, the flower fades,
But the word of our God stands forever.
—Isaiah 40:8
"And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body, and be thankful."
—Colossians 3:15
This week, campers learned about the life of Joseph. They enjoyed hikes through the woods, had fun with crafts and games, and spent time filling out prayer journals. Yesterday they ate pizza and ice cream outside, and received awards for activities they took part in throughout the week.
Know this, my beloved brothers. But everyone must be quick to hear, slow to speak and slow to anger; for the anger of man does not achieve the righteousness of God.
—James 1:19-20

Restoring Hope, Rebuilding Lives
Since 1906, Lima Rescue Mission has been reaching out to poor and homeless men by providing physical and spiritual care in a time of crisis. The Mission is an evangelical, non-denominational organization. All funding comes directly from individuals, businesses, churches and other organizations who want to be involved in helping people in need in our community. We do not receive any funding from the government or other agencies.
We help men with both physical and spiritual needs by providing food, clothing and shelter as well as Bible studies, chapel services, classes and one on one spiritual counseling. We strive to provide a safe and secure environment that promotes positive life changes and where healing takes place. The Mission also ministers to at risk youth through a summer day camp at our campgrounds, Camp Roberts.
