She enjoys working with all of the people at IPA, and appreciates the support she gets from administration that allows her to be a working physician with a young family. May is Mental Health Awareness Month!

Did you know that mental illness affects more than 50 million Americans every year? We often don't treat our mental health as well as we do our physical health, but they are equally important. How can you take better care of your mental health? Here are some tips from our providers:

• Be honest with yourself and others about your mental health
• Ask for and accept help – this includes seeing a therapist if you're struggling
• Find your village – these are the people you can count on for support
• Practice gratitude daily and find something that brings you joy
• Learn to let go of the things you can't control
• Try to get outside every day
• Treat others with kindness and grace, and learn how to listen; meaningful connections with others will boost your well-being

Mental health is fundamental to our overall well-being, so learn to take good care of yours!

Today is Ashley Lundstrom, APRN, is enjoying her birthday! She enjoys the variety of patients she gets to take care of every day, and the supportive work environment at IPA. She likes spending time at her kids activities. Here's wishing your day is filled with relaxation and fun, Ashley!

Kristen Harms, APRN, is going to celebrate her special day on May 22. She enjoys working with a great team of people, and the work-life balance that allows her to be involved in her kids’ activities. Dark chocolate is her favorite food, she loves seeing the elephants at the zoo, and a short run followed by lifting weights is her go-to workout. Have an amazing birthday, Kristen!

At our Brains & Breakfast seminar, Matthew Purbaugh, MD, a neurologist at Bryan Health, presented educational information about Neuro emergencies.

A special shoutout to our amazing IPA team for their generous donations to Friendship Home!

Friendship Home is a safe place for abused and battered women and their children to go when they make the brave decision to escape. Friendship Home works with Lincoln Police as well as Fire and Rescue, but many show up on their own. They usually arrive with nothing but the clothes on their backs and need even the most basic of things.

Thanks to your generosity, IPA was able to present to Friendship Home a trunk filled with much-needed items along with a check for $1400. Your kindness and compassion go well beyond the care of our patients.
