We have seen some awesome quilts this summer!!
Kara came to us a couple months ago to pick out the background of this quilt and then brought it back in to be quilted.
She picked out the perfect thread and design that pulled it all together!
Way to go Kara!!!

Tip Tuesday is all about Minky!

It doesn’t matter if your quilt is for a Baby or an adult, Minky is everyone’s favorite to cuddle up with!
We suggest you use a walking foot, 90/14 Stretch Needle, increase the stitch length to 3.5mm, use polyester thread and don’t forget to Pin, Pin, Pin 📍

Kristy made two versions of this pattern, one for a boy and one for a girl!
One of them will be a gift for a grand baby, but she didn’t know the gender, hence why she made two versions of the pattern!

So perfect to make little mug rugs. We are cutting coordinating fat quarters as fast as we can. Stop in before they are gone. Everyone likes a quick holiday idea.

Have we told you about our favorite invisible thread?
Mono-Poly comes in Clear and Smoke and love the large spools because they last a lot longer and the thread does not come off the spool curly and gets caught in things!
The other nice feature we like about this thread is that the poly does not absorb dye!
So if your fabric happens to bleed, it won’t soak into the thread!!

Tip Tuesday. New project new needle. When was the last time you put in a new Needle? Schmetz recommends about 10 hours per needle. These topstitch needles are specifically listed on the king tut spool as their needle of choice.

Have you tried Glide Thread? We have been using it on our Longarm Machine for a few years now and we have had No Problems with it!! It is 100% polyester and hardly any lint and it never seems to break on us!
Let us know what you think if you have used it!

Barbara picked up her scrappy 30s Quilt this morning! The fabrics she picked go perfectly with her board!

These Halloween fabrics just arrived and we are loving all the hot pink . You really need to stop in and take a peak. It is hot outside ,but we are nice and cool inside the store.

Do you have scraps of batting but not big enough for a quilt? Don’t throw them away!
We always keep Fusible Batting Tape on hand so we can fuse our scraps, making them big enough for our projects!

Have you used Batting Tape and do you like it?

We love these folding seam rippers…. It’s not a popular notion to use, but at least they’re cute! Lol

We often get asked, “What needles should I buy?”
Our favorite type of Sewing Machine needle is Microtex because they are very sharp; but You should always match your needle to your project!

Next question we get asked is, “What size should I get?” Again, it depends on your project but you can tell the size by the numbers on the package.
The first number is the size of the needle in millimeters. So the bigger the number, the larger than needle.

So a 90/14 is bigger than a 70/10!

If you’re sewing through lots of layers or thick fabric, you will want a bigger needle!
