The bus has arrived at the 2024-25 theme announcement and we’re so excited to announce that our 2024-25 theme is Road Trip to HOSA! This year we are inviting members jump on the bus to join us at our various road trip stops like FLC, SLC, and our 2024-25 Kickoff later this month. We aim to make our stops this year an inviting and accessible environment for members of all ages to expand their passion for the healthcare field.

Five more days until the Nebraska HOSA State Leadership Conference! If you plan on missing school for our event, let your teachers know today so that you can catch up easily.

We had an amazing day at our state’s beautiful capitol advocating for Career and Technical Education! We met with several senators, and discussed our organization and the reasons to provide funding for CTSO’s. We are proud to represent HOSA at such a great event!

As SLC is just around the corner, we are super excited to partner with NCBB this year for our service project. On Monday March 4th from 9 AM to 1 PM we will be hosting a Blood Drive for members to participate in. In order to donate at SLC, we are asking that potential donors fill out the Blood Drive Donor Form so we can plan for all of our donors. Anyone who is 16 and is wishing to donate, a link to the REQUIRED form will be provided on the Blood Drive Donor Form. You will also need to bring a photo ID if you plan on donating, which could be a school ID or drivers license. We are excited to soar higher in our service project goals!

Registration for our Northeast Community College Experience in Norfolk is now open! Students will attend breakout sessions of their choice and a student panel to learn about the health science programs at Northeast Community College and practice hands-on health career skills. The event is on January 19, 2024. Registration is open for one week only, and it closes on the 12th.

We want YOU to exhibit your artistic and creative ability in helping design the Nebraska HOSA state pin! This pin will be used as Nebraska’s trading pin at the HOSA International Leadership Conference in June. Each competitor and chaperone will receive 10 pins, but additional pins may be purchased at ILC. Fun, creative, and unique pin designs increase trading and represent Nebraska HOSA in a positive way. On Monday, November 20th, we were able to recognize 2 of our outstanding HOSA members, Vaibhavi Kota (11) and Ashrithra Chiguluri (11), from Millard North HOSA at the Commissioner’s Recognition event for receiving the Barbara James Service Award at the International Leadership Conference. Nebraska HOSA State Secretary Kenna Morgan had the opportunity to Emcee the event and represent Nebraska HOSA. Congratulations to all of our HOSA members on your outstanding work and keep soaring higher!

Did you know that the United States Military employs over 100,000 healthcare workers? These are active-duty medical professionals who risk their own lives to save others. We encourage you to thank the people in your life who have served. Thank you, Veterans.

Attention Nebraska HOSA, we have officially hit our goal of 1,000 members! We are so proud of our chapters for in our membership numbers. Big or small, your chapter has contributed to this accomplishment. Congratulations to South Central HOSA for attaining our 1,000th member! Our Mind Bending Careers event was a success! We partnered with to put on this event. The purpose of MBC is to prepare the next generation of mental health professionals; in an effort to relieve the chronic shortage of mental health professionals in Nebraska. Thank you to the University of Nebraska Kearney for having us and to our awesome speakers.

Our first event of the year, Metro Community College Experience was a success! We attended some awesome breakout sessions, heard from speakers, and met new HOSA friends. Our last day at the Washington Leadership Conference! Our trip went by so fast but we are greatful for the memories made and lessons learned. Today we toured the US Capitol and heard from the US Department Of Education Deputy Assistant Secretary Luke Rhine. We attended our closing session and looked back on our experiences at WLA.
