We are a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization, funded with public and private dollars.

We are motivated by our mission of “strengthening the Community Action Network to address poverty in Nebraska.”
We are driven by our vision that “Nebraska is a national leader in addressing the causes and conditions of poverty.”
Serving as Nebraska’s statewide association for over 30 years, Community Action of Nebraska’s focus is on enhancing program development, facilitating training and technical assistance and leading advocacy efforts as the statewide voice for people experiencing poverty.
Community Action of Nebraska (CAN) is a part of a national network of nonprofits consisting of over 1,000 Community Action Agencies, all “dedicated to helping people help themselves and each other.”
