✨ This week, Kelly’s Pilates Reformer classes focused on the connection between Pilates Mat work and Pilates apparatus work. She chose mat exercises that directly corresponded to exercises on the equipment so that members could hone in on their technique and make connections across different Pilates disciplines. 🙌🏻 Even the most Mat-wary members loved it and got a great workout! ✨ We hope you’ve been enjoying our August Hip Strength & Mobility Focus here at Babylom Barre! ✨ In this video, Kelly highlights a few of her favorite hip strength exercises as well as a couple that focus on mobility for the pelvis. Hip strength is so important, especially as we age, with every day activities- it aids in walking, standing, climbing stairs, jumping, etc. Working on strengthening your glutes, adductors (inner thigh), and abductors (outer thigh) can help in preventing a variety of injuries and quality of life issues! Mobility exercises like the last exercise shown in the video also help to keep our pelvis healthy and moving in the variety of ranges of motion that it likes to move in! Our hips love internal rotation, and we often don’t work that range of motion enough. Be sure to come to class the rest of the month for other ways to strengthen your hips! 🌟 What movement focuses would you like to see for the fall months?!
