π What is the number 1 reason you like to work out/move your body? I love to show up on my mat and move my body to release stress, clear my mind, and find inner peace! It sets the tone for my day and allows me to unwind!
π What is your favorite class to teach? Core Yoga
π What is your best advice to someone just starting their fitness journey? My best advice to someone just starting their fitness journey is something I wish I realized sooner myself: donβt compare yourself to the person next to you. One of my favorite quotes by Jon Acuff says, βDon't compare your beginning to someone else's middle, or your middle to someone else's end.β Everyone is on their own path and day to day will look different along your journey. Meet yourself where you are that day and avoid pushing past your limits. Rather, play with the edges and challenge yourself, but listen to your body when it also calls for rest. Know that itβs okay to ease out, slow down, or take a childβs pose; sometimes thatβs what your body needs. If youβre constantly comparing yourself to others, you may never be satisfied with your own work. Own where you are in your journey, take time to embrace and celebrate that, and keep moving forward!
π What is Your Favorite thing about the Babylon Barre community? The support from one another in the studio. Everyone is here for the same reasons; to help uplift one another and create a safe environment for students and teachers alike to join together, share space, move their bodies, and find connection.
π Share 1 fun fact about yourself: For fun, I love to dance and try new dances from jazz to ballroom to tap. When dancing, I feel most carefree and focused, not thinking of or distracted by anything else. My favorite dance since I was a child is Irish step dancing, which I still do today!
π What is your guilty pleasure? My guilty pleasure is watching bad reality TV shows with my girlfriends!
MINOR schedule changes ahead!
Starting Sunday 10/27, Meghan H will be taking over the Sunday morning Reformer classes (you can still catch Tracey for her weekday morning classes, donβt worry!). Now, Classic Reformer will be meeting at 8:30am, and Reformer Stretch will be meeting at 9:30am.
The following changes to the Monday morning schedule will take effect 10/28:
π Lizβs Barre 45 will move from 6am TO 7am
π Caitlinβs 8am Barre will become 8:15-8:45am Core Strength 30
π Cardio Barre will move from 9:15 to 9am
π Carlyβs Pilates Flow will now start at 10am, not 10:05.
(You can start booking these classes over the weekend once our new system is up and running!)

β¨ Over the weekend, we co-hosted a workshop about the pelvic floor with Alex Karris from Apex Gym in Lindenhurst! β¨
Alex addressed the anatomy of the pelvic floor, how posture and breathing can impact the function of the pelvic floor, and Alex and Kelly went over some exercises (including some you will find in a regular Mat Pilates class!) to help with pelvic floor function.

π What is the number 1 reason you like to work out/move your body? I love exercising because of not only the way it makes your body feel, but also your mind. The mind body connection that Pilates builds is my favorite aspect.

Consistency is the best way to meet your goals, so itβs important to find a way to keep yourself accountable.
π What is Your Favorite thing about the Babylon Barre community? Everyone is at a different place in their fitness journey and everyone supports you and cheers you on no matter what phase you are at.
π Share 1 fun fact about yourself: I love to travel. I usually book my next trip while on the airplane home from a trip. My favorite place that Iβve been so far is Turks & Caicos. Next on my bucket list is Italy.
π What is your guilty pleasure? Carbs..mainly pasta. My weakness!
