Today we remember the longest Day and the bravery of the many men who served in this epic campaign that changed ...I'm proud to say that I've been to several of the landing beaches and have paid respects at the Normandy American Cemetery. It was a moving experience which provided a new perspective on the magnitude of .
This album contains photos from my recent trip to Normandy, France where I was fortunate enough to visit the D-Day landing beaches. Our first stop was Pointe Du Hoc.
My Grandfather is the man on the right. He served in the Army during WW2 and fought in the Africa & Italy campaigns where he earned a Silver Star, Bronze Star and Purple Heart for his gallant service.
After WW2, he reenlisted in the Air Force and fought in The Korean War. My Grandfather retired from the Air Force as Major he worked for Grumman until they closed.
My Grandfather moved to upstate NY and was 89 when he passed. He was buried in Saratoga National Cemetery with full honors. He was not only my hero...he is
