Dr. David J. Campbell, DMA MMus BMus Hon., originally hailing from Toronto, Canada, is a classically trained cellist with a diverse artistic portfolio spanning multiple genres. His extensive teaching experience and graduate studies have established him as a sought-after educator, touring performer, and recording artist. He has performed, recorded, and taught across 43 US states and numerous countries worldwide, using his expertise to inspire students and audiences alike. Recent tours have included concerts and festivals in Germany, Sweden, Denmark, Canada, Taiwan, and Japan. He is an SAA certified Suzuki instructor, and has taught cello from beginner to college level advanced, with students successfully auditioning to All-State orchestras and college music schools.

A few months ago we took a trip to northern PA and stopped in with our wonderful friends at JR Judd Violins in Williamsport. Valerie at the welcome desk, John Lantz the cello expert, and of course Jeff Judd, the master luthier. Absolutely the best people, instruments and service for any string instrument! ๐ป
Congratulations to the Academy students who participated in District Orchestra on January 28 at Cumberland Valley and District Band on February 11 at Warwick! ๐ต๐ป๐ถ๐บ
Their teachers are Amanda Krauss - violin, MaryLee Yerger - violin and viola, John Yerger - cello and string bass, and Marilyn Winfield - brass.
District Orchestra - Isaiah Hollinger-violin, Katherine Riley-viola, Saige Solier-Whitney-Principal bass, Kathryn Meyer-bass, and Jonathan Wenger-Principal trombone. (Saige Solier-Whitney will also be participating in Regional Orchestra)
District Band - Chloe Harris-trumpet, Jonathan Wenger-Principal trombone, Adam Wagner-trombone, Ben Ginder-French horn, Jack Haught-euphonium, and Kathryn Meyer-string bass. (Chloe Harris will also be participating in Regional Band)
Sarah Ludwig loves playing her violin and played the National Anthem for the Special Olympics swim meet at Elizabethtown College on March 27. Great job, Sarah! ๐ต๐ปโค๏ธ
We are pleased to welcome Ben Pierson, guitar teacher, to our staff at fhe Lititz Academy of Music! Ben is a graduate of Millersville University with a degree in Elementary and Early Childhood education. He has been a primary level teacher at the Montessori Academy of Lancaster for 15 years where he is also a camp counselor during the summer. Ben performs locally as a solo musician and in bands. He loves music and teaching guitar and is looking forward to working with new students at the Lititz Academy of Music. ๐ธ๐ต

Violin and viola solos and duets, and vocal solos - Lititz Academy of Music string students of MaryLee Yerger, and voice students of Gretchen Bender. ๐ถ๐ป๐ต A special thank you to Pastor Robert and Emily Myallis for their hospitality.
We are excited to welcome Gretchen Bender to our teaching staff as a vocal instructor. Gretchen is a native of NJ and a graduate of Rowan University with a degree in music education (vocal). She has been a worship leader, a musical director, a choir director, and a voice teacher for over 20 years.

The Academy is open and teachers are available for in-person lessons. COVID-19 mitigation procedures have been implemented since June - only teachers and students in the facility, daily temperature checks, use of face masks, hand sanitizer available, etc. Many of our teachers are also available for virtual lessons. ๐ถ๐ป๐น๐บ๐ผ๐ท

My violin and viola students played well and made some amazing, creative posters representing the pieces they played for our โNight at the Moviesโ recital on Friday evening. One of our Academy piano teachers, Karen Umberger, did a fantastic job as accompanist. We are pleased to announce the addition of 3 new teachers at the Academy. MICHELE ALLEN teaches violin and viola and also teaches lessons at Susquehanna Waldorf. HEIDI LIMBERT, the Lititz Community Band director is available to teach woodwind lessons. Our guitar instructor, BEN YOUNG, also teaches guitar at Linden Hall.
14 of Karen Umberger's piano students, plus one of Marilyn Winfield's French horn students, performed in recital at St. Luke's United Church of Christ on North Broad Street in Lititz, where Karen is Director of Music Ministry. Students range in age from 7 to 16, and represent 7 different schools in Lancaster and Lebanon counties. A post-recital reception honored the performers. Approximately 60 family members and friends attended.
Great concert on May 15 at Warwick by the elementary Alpha and Allegro Orchestras. Lititz Academy of Music was well represented by string students Ethan Rineer, Katherine Karcheski, and Brianna Fox (violin), Ruby Cesarini (viola), and Ben Knouse, Logan Collins, and Maggie Bates (cello) in the Allegro Orchestra.
My violin and viola students celebrated St. Patrick's Day this weekend with 3 mini-recitals, Irish tunes, and plenty of green. They all did a great job! ๐
