Girls who choose Linden Hall for middle school have extraordinary outcomes in high school and beyond.

What are the unique advantages of becoming a Lady Lion for middle school? Camille ’27, now a sophomore, says: “My middle school experience significantly shaped my character, teaching me how to be confident when facing challenges and helping me to build new friendships with my classmates. Events like Blue & White Week not only taught me teambuilding skills, but also how to embrace competition. All in all, middle school at Linden Hall helped to bring me out of my shell and become one with the community around me.”

🌞 Summer at Linden Hall 2024 is right around the corner! In addition to Equestrian Camp (July 14–19), we will offer Wizarding School (July 7–12) and World Travelers (July 14–19) during GIRLS Camp. To learn more about the summer’s offerings, we sat down with Ms. Meredith Renfro, our Summer Programs Director, to hear her thoughts on the program. Keep reading to learn more!

Describe your role with Summer at Linden Hall.

“As Camp Director, I plan the themes and activities for camp each year. I also oversee the camp staff, collect registrations, and communicate with parents. I do my best to ensure that campers have a safe, fun, and educational experience at camp.”

How do you see Linden Hall Summer Camp enriching the lives of attendees each year?

“One of the best parts about camp is seeing returning campers come back year after year and watching them grow in confidence. Campers often decide to come to Linden Hall for school, and I have witnessed several campers go on to graduate, and some even become camp staff! Camp is a great opportunity to make new friends and meet older Linden Hall students who are like the “big sisters” to the campers. I have heard from many parents that their campers continue to talk about what they learned months after camp has ended.”

Why did you select this year’s GIRLS Camp themes?

“It is the third year of Wizarding School, which is our most popular theme and has filled two years in a row. As a Harry Potter fan, I saw parallels between Hogwarts and Linden Hall’s history and thought it would be a lot of fun if Linden Hall could become a ‘Wizarding School.’ World Travelers is the first camp theme that I did for a few years in a row, about 10 years ago. There are a lot of creative activities that can be done with a World Travelers theme, and, since Linden Hall is home to students who come from cultures all over the world, it is a great way to introduce campers to Linden Hall!”

To learn more and register for one or more of this year’s camp weeks, visit LHGirls.org/summer! Registration closes on Monday, July 1.

🎓🎉 CONGRATULATIONS TO THE CLASS OF 2024!

This morning, we said farewell to an exceptional group of young women who have left an enduring mark on Linden Hall’s legacy. These graduates have demonstrated remarkable intellect, resilience, and unwavering determination to make a difference in the world.

Commencement included inspirational words from Mr. Lear and Alumnae Association President Olivia Daniels ‘15, as well as a piano performance from Yola ‘24 and the performance of an original composition written and conducted by Yuna ‘24. Dr. Nan, Mr. Foreman, and Student Council President Hayden ‘24 also addressed the class.

🏅 We are so proud to recognize Tenra ‘24 as our Salutatorian and winner of the coveted Linden Hall Medal, and Sara ‘24 as our 2024 valedictorian! Congratulations, girls!

We have every confidence that each of our new graduates will swiftly begin to make a significant impact in the new chapter of her life. We take immense pride in celebrating the class of 2024, and we extend our best wishes for their future success!

🎓 Tonight, we celebrated our departing seniors with two cherished traditions: Baccalaureate and Lantern Walk.

The evening began with Baccalaureate, during which Dr. Nan, Mr. Fultz, and our senior class mentors, Ms. Dumm and Ms. McCole, delivered heartfelt messages to our graduates. Kristýna’25 also performed her original song, “Stars and Scars,” for our guests. Baccalaureate was a time for the class of 2024 to reflect on their journey at Linden Hall, reminiscing together about the wonderful memories they’ve created.

Following Baccalaureate, our traditional Lantern Walk commenced, marking the transition of the class of 2025 from juniors to seniors. In a solemn procession from Mary Dixon Chapel to the courtyard, our junior and senior girls gathered around the fountain, singing their class songs. In a meaningful gesture, the seniors passed their lanterns to the juniors, symbolizing the responsibility of becoming the leading members of the Linden Hall community, now entrusted to the new senior class.

Congratulations to our class of 2024 as they prepare to graduate tomorrow morning!

🎉🎓 This morning we celebrated Middle School Promotion! This event marks our “graduation” for grades 6–8, marking a significant milestone in our students’ educational journeys.

The morning began with a special recognition of our eighth graders by Dr. Nan and Mr. Fultz, followed by speeches from class mentors Ms. Schneider and Ms. Duncsak.

Each member of the class of 2028 then shared a heartfelt personal statement regarding her middle school experiences at Linden Hall. 9th grader Amina ‘27 also provided our rising high schoolers with some tips and tricks for navigating the coming year.

Additionally, we celebrated our sixth and seventh-grade students as they moved up to higher grades, ready to take on more senior roles within the middle school.

Congratulations to all our middle school movers! Your hard work, resilience, and commitment have paid off, and we look forward to seeing what you will accomplish next year and beyond!

🎥 Students, staff, and parents gathered at Penn Cinema on Sunday, May 19, for the Spring 2024 Image and Word Festival. The event, the culmination of Mr. Hondares’ film studies class, is an incredible opportunity for students to present their own original short films on the big screen.

The spring edition of the festival opened with a terrifying psychological horror movie inspired by “elevated horror” director Ari Aster. Students squirmed in their seats and screamed at the well-staged scares! The event also featured a whimsical mystery that paid homage to the classic works of Wizard of Oz director Victor Fleming, and it closed with a haunting love story inspired by Hong Kong filmmaker Wong Kar-Wai.

Congratulations to our talented filmmakers, and thank you to everyone who came out to support them. And a very special shout-out to the Linden Hall Parents Association, whose generous support made this event possible for our students. Thank you for giving them an opportunity they could never get anywhere else!
