Great day out for a race and raft up. Videos of Wanderlust, Lickety Split and Swift. Lots of fun and we need to do this again.
Tomorrow race info: let’s meet at Myrtle Beach Yacht Club tomorrow at 9:00 as we usually do. I’ll do my best to email y’all with a course that would fit a SSE wind and start times. I’ll do this when I get home later today. The tide will play a part in this as we’ll most likely be getting out 1.5 a 2 hours before low tide. We may have to delay a little depending on the race duration to get to raft up at Bird (Waites) just after low tide. Thanks for participating. We’ll also toast to Breck’s birthday. Should be nice day.

PURSUIT RACE (August 17, 2024) & RAFT UP
As a reminder, the LBSA will host a quick pursuit race this Saturday (8/17) after which we will all try and get comfy cozy with our boats and raft up together at Bird or Waites Island. This is a great gathering to conduct party training, swimming, and great conversations. Please bring your food (some of us have grills) and drink, and water wings. Some of us might try and migrate to the beach as well if not too crowded and the wind behaves itself.
As usual, captains and people trying to get on boats should come to our prep meeting Saturday at 9:00 am at Myrtle Beach Yacht Club, next to the marina's pool. If anything should change, we'll let you know as soon as possible. AND PLEASE RESPOND IF YOU ARE GOING SO WE MAY BE PREPARED (WARNED 🤗)
Hope all is well,
Due to some very hot temps, we will not be conducting either event this Saturday.
But all is not lost. August 17th promises to be a great makeup Saturday and first celebratory raft-up this year. Please keep it in mind. People will be returning from important family events so this should be great.
Y'all keep cool.
Hello racers, cruisers, and everyone in between (we love you anyway 🥰):
Scheduled this Saturday and the following Saturday are two Cruising pursuits + Rafting parties.
The latter of the two, August 17th, is very special as we're thinkin' of celebrating one of our fearless leader's birthday (a couple days late, but what the heck) during the rafting party - kill two birds with one stone. He's an older bird than I, so......... I can't divulge his age as I value my life, but it's somewhere between 67 and 93).
Rumor has it that it will be a bit toasty this Saturday, but geez, we have a large of water to jump in if needed 🥵. Seriously, I need to know who will want to go out and race a cruising pursuit. Albeit I'm not nearly as accurate as our RC, I'm guessing winds will probably be around 10 - 12 knots from the south - light winds would be difficult in the heat. The course will be adjusted accordingly.
Please let us know if you're interested in doing anything that involves putting a sail up to catch that invisible thing we like - wind. Otherwise, we can wait for festivities on the 17th.
Lemme know, y'all. Be safe.

Great day out on race course. Thank you Patrick for setting the course.
We have a sailing race this Saturday and we need sailors (or non-sailors) who can take their boat out or to crew. Please show up at the Myrtle Beach Yacht Club at 9 am (next to the pool). We'll work on providing crew if you're short (I resemble that remark 😁) or if you need training. We aim to have fun. You may also respond via this email.
Some skippers have already been notified by Race Committee and have responded.
