I always wonder what’s going through their minds before they turn around. Some guys smile. Some look nervous. Some try to make funny faces at the camera. But always the face after they turn around is genuine and completely different. And I can tell that no one in the room matters at that moment. His eyes are locked! 🤵🏻🙌🏻✨👰🏼✨

Simple can be simply beautiful. Some times photographers get all worked up on the details, props or location location location. Sometimes the perfect picture is right there... one step over or in the next room. I try not to get bogged down and over think it. ❤️

Learn lighting. It matters. Photoshop can’t always fix every problem. .

I have been hired to do many weddings. International and domestic. Elopement weddings are fun and exciting. Words of caution. If you do a wedding destination consider taking a local photographer with you. The benefits outweigh the fee. Just imagine you leave your amazing location with your Zip drive or whatever. Just to find out the images are such poor quality you can’t make a wedding album or print an 8x10. I’ve seen it happen. Now imagine trying to call another country to complain. Scary. But imagine your photo comes home with you and is back designing your album making any edits you want. A stress free life is worth the extra investment. In my opinion. 😊

Weddings are popping in 2019. Bookings are going well. 25 yrs of wedding photography and I still get excited for every couple.

are not dead or dying art forms. These images will stay relevant forever. I like to do a mixture of classic and journalistic styles when commissioned to do a wedding. I have always felt like anything else dates your pictures to a trend that may be popular at that time. But with the correct exposer, lighting, dept of field, lens and posing this portrait will stand the test of time.

It’s not always about posing or the lighting or snapping a 1000 images at a wedding. It’s about being prepared to catch a moment that if you were to blink you’d miss it. I’ve been blessed with photographing hundreds of weddings in different parts of the world and this country, it has given me the training to always be on the look out to catch the unexpected.

Mixed lighting. Natural window light plus back lit w a cannon 580 speed flash. See how the veil glows. But the front of the brides flowers, dress and face are not over exposed. Mastering light and exposer is probably on of the more difficult things I think a lot of photographers face when staring out. It’s like cooking. A little of this and a little that, makes it perfect.
