Student Ministry of The Church at Rock Creek
We are gathering of students, grades 6th-12th, committed to reaching people with the Gospel of Christ, making disciples and maturing believers who are disciple-makers.
We want YOU to be a part of what we are doing in our student ministry! We will be having an informational lunch for 6th grade students and parents in the community room Sunday at noon. Come hear about who we are, what we do, and what our mission is as a student ministry!
We will see you there!
"Therefore let us be grateful for receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, and thus let us offer to God acceptable worship, with reverence and awe, for our God is a consuming fire." Hebrews 12:28-29
Leading up to our fall term, we will be introducing our student team!
Meet Jason Curry! Jason is our Next Generation Ministries Pastor. We are so thankful for Jason, how he leads us, and the many things he does for us behind the scenes!
🔹How long have you worked with RCS?
19 Years
🔹What sets RCS apart from other student ministries?
Rock Creek Students come from all walks of life and backgrounds! On a typical Sunday night at The U., about 17 schools are represented, which doesn’t happen in most churches. God has been so good to us over the years and positioned us perfectly to reach people in central Arkansas from all backgrounds. I love that about Rock Creek!
🔹What’s your favorite RCS event?
My favorite RCS event is Beach Trip. I love everything about Beach Trip because it is intentionally designed to give a student an experience they will never forget and could change their life forever. We usually see a student a couple of hours a week. We see changes almost immediately when we invest a week into their life. I love watching our students take advantage of the flexible schedule, break from school, quietness away from cell phones, and the peace of the beach. Each year, I am amazed by what God does.
🔹What’s your favorite thing about RCS?
My favorite thing about RCS is the people. I love the students wholeheartedly; the leaders are my favorite people on the planet, and I am so proud of the student staff. We have developed a family atmosphere where we do life together. I love that and am so thankful that God let me be part of it.
🔹What’s something you would tell a student who is curious about our ministry?
You can’t stay where you are and go with God. At some point, Faith demands that you take a step. You never know what God will do in and through you when you decide it is time to get involved!
"I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. I do not nullify the grace of God, for if righteousness were through the law, then Christ died for no purpose." Galatians 2:20-21
YO‼️ This Sunday, we will NOT have the U! We will be going down to the worship center at 6pm for the church-wide worship night. We would love for you to join us!
After this week, we will be back on regular schedule for Sunday nights!
Leading up to our fall term, we will be introducing our student team!
Meet Garrett Best! Garrett is our director of guys discipleship. We are so thankful for Garrett and the many things that he does for us!
🔹How long have you worked with RCS?
I’ve been at Rock Creek Students since August 2018.
🔹What sets RCS apart from other student ministries?
I think what sets us apart from other student ministries would be the students themselves. The students are the driving force of our ministry. No matter their background, school, family situation, we are all united by Christ and for Christ. And our students are all in for that.
🔹What’s your favorite RCS event?
Has to be Beach Trip. We are limited in our hours of discipleship during the school year. But at Beach Trip we are almost unlimited in the amount of discipleship time. In the same way, it is also great to see the students fully engaged with their life groups and during worship! It is encouraging to me as a leader.
🔹What’s your favorite thing about RCS?
The students. They are the best. No pun intended.
🔹What’s something you would tell a student who is curious about our ministry?
I would tell a student who is curious to give us a chance. We aren’t a typical student ministry, and if a student will just give us a chance I think God will do something life changing in their life.

🔹How long have you worked with RCS?
I've worked with RCS for two and a half years now. They've been some of the sweetest years of my life!
🔹What sets RCS apart from other student ministries?
RCS is unique in that it consists of students from all different backgrounds. We have students from schools all over the LR/Bryant area, and yet in RCS, they all treat one another with so much kindness and genuine care. When I think about each life group, each one feels like a family within a larger family of RCS! It's truly such a sweet community.
🔹What's your favorite RCS event?
Rush is always my favorite event every year! Obviously, Beach Trip is incredible, too, though. I'm super stoked for the Rodeo coming up! This actually will be my first rodeo.
🔹What's your favorite thing about RCS?
Seeing how passionate the students are about the LORD is definitely my favorite thing. They desire closeness with Him so much and are so diligent to grow in their understanding of the Word. Although we do have a lot of fun in RCS, I feel like the majority of our students come simply to grow in the grace and knowledge of Christ. I've learned so much from their love of the Word and their lifestyles of worship.
🔹What's something you would tell a student who is curious about our ministry?
If you haven't ever attended a morning Bible study or the U on a Sunday night, please come visit! You'll find life-long friends here who will point you to christ and walk alongside you as you pursue Him!
RECAP‼️Last night, Allie taught us about true forgiveness and atonement through the Father. We learned that it is better than any forgiveness we can try to give ourselves. It was an amazing night, and we already can't wait for next week!

"Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice. Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:4-7
GUYS‼️Join us tomorrow night at 6 for G-League! It's going to be an awesome night of Bible study, games, and guy time. Be there!

🔹 How long have you worked with RCS?
I started serving the worship team playing bass and life group leading in 2010!
🔹What sets RCS apart from other student ministries?
Our ministry is uniquely placed to serve so many schools throughout Central Arkansas. I’ve seen kids from Jacksonville to Harmony Grove to Joe T.
🔹What’s your favorite RCS event?
Dodgeball events no question.
🔹What’s your favorite thing about RCS?
My favorite thing about RCS is Garrett Best. But also it’s the students. Our ministry has kids from every walk of life, each unique, but unifying in our love for Jesus.
🔹What’s something you would tell a student who is curious about our ministry?
You are welcome here to grow in Christ, learn, and have so much fun! This is a ministry you bring ALL your friends to!
