I’ve never seen a better example of why brides getting married in an all white venue need to seriously consider bringing warm and inviting textures into their event space and overall design. An earthy pink/salmon, chartreuse-y olive green or muted saffron yellow backdrop or linens would have elevated this color palette out in such a lovely way and made these colors really shine.

Color is our friend and knowing how to use it harmoniously makes all the difference in the photos that you will be treasuring for the rest of your lives.

My favorite way to commemorate a seasons best blooms is to take a slow, quiet afternoon to design and photograph.

Spring time is definitely all about the ranunculus, but this weekend will be all about summertime lisianthus. I can’t wait to share this gorgeousness with you all!

Megalo Orchid Lisianthus is starting to show some color in the tunnel! 💜

She is in our late season group and should be ready for harvesting in the next couple of weeks if not sooner along with our Rosanne Brown lisi.

Taking her rightful spot on the grid.

Bridal bouquets used to be the most stressful part of wedding florals for me. I would dread it, and it would take me hours to be happy with size and composition. I would restart at least three times.

But with every one that I made it got easier and easier. This one was such a joy to create and only took me about 30 minutes from start to finish. I’m pretty proud of her.

Sometimes I can’t relax until after I’ve let my mind get some creative juices out. So a quick harvest and a trip to the produce aisle later, I’m calm and the kitchen is covered in stems and fruit.

All flowers grown locally right here at Poppy Leigh Flower Farm. 💕

Shoutout to for all the colorful fruits 🍇

It’s my first year growing butterfly ranunculus and they’re even better than I had hoped! I only bought a handful of corms and only four of them sprouted, so I won’t have many to share. But these floaty girls are here to stay. 🩷

Tired of poppy pictures? Too bad.

We went on our morning field check and found the poppies quite literally popping out of their pods. My only regret is not planting more of these pretty girls. Next year we will be harvesting enough to share my friends!

This year I attempted Icelandic poppies for the first time and I am smitten. The stem length, the vase life, the subtle honeysuckle scent, the colors and crinkles….they’re perfect.
