Although, guests are welcome to bring their own food and drinks (which basically unheard of at most music festivals) we HIGHLY recommend enjoying the fine eats available onsite.

Rockcastle Riverside: 4211 Lower River Rd (KY 1329), Livingston, KY.

-EXIT 49 off of I-75 (2nd Livingston exit if you're coming from Lexington)
KY 909 > 25 >1329.

GATE HOURS

Gate closed? You aren't coming in until it reopens the next morning!

2024 MOONSHINER’S BALL GATE HOURS:

Thursday, Oct. 10:   3 pm – 10 PM
Friday, Oct. 11:       10 AM – 10 PM
Saturday, Oct. 12:   10 AM – 10 PM
Sunday, Oct. 13:     10 AM – 12 PM

PARKING

-Livingston Fire Department will be on site assisting with camping and parking. The Parking Lot across the street costs $10 or an in/ out pass is available for $20 for those of you that will be coming and going.
-Tipping is strongly encouraged if they help you haul your camping gear to your site.
-Proceeds go directly to Livingston Volunteer Fire and Rescue. They can accept cash or Venmo onsite.

WAIVER

DOGS

-You must purchase a separate ticket for your dog
-You must display the Moonshiner’s Dog wristband you get at the gate on his/her collar the entire time
-Dogs must be leashed in all common areas (stage lawn, vendor areas, near the kids’ tent – basically anywhere outside your campsite)
-You must clean up after your dog.

WATER

Vendors will have some for sale, but we highly recommend bringing it with you as well.

ICE

Available at the general store on site and next to the merchandise tent (near main stage).

LASTLY

Bring your smiling faces to the beautiful Rockcastle Riverside and come see what SHINE ON is all about! T-MINUS 9 DAYS!!!!

-Trust us, if your GPS is bringing you onto 1329 any way but from KY 25 then look closer it might be trying to have you drive across the river!!!

One map service shows it as 4211 Lower River Rd, Mt. Vernon, KY. All good, just make sure to get off on Exit 49.

If any of these sound like a bad mix for your pup, please consider leaving him/her at home. If we have repeated problems with your dog, you will be asked to take him/her home. (No refunds)

**** ARTIST ANNOUNCEMENT ****

It was that legendary fourth year of The Moonshiner’s Ball, when Deeohgee (known then as The Blackfoot Gypsies), crossed the damp storm-battered fields of Jenkins’ Farm in Irvine to kick Saturday off with another, more metaphorical, battery of lightning and thunder. Largely unknown in Kentucky at the time, they absolutely lit the stage on fire, melting our faces as they thrashed in the throes of wild southern rock like three men clinging to a fire hose on full blast. That set impressed as much as any in a year when your favorite little festival far outpunched its class. And to my, admittedly biased, perspective, it was the beginning of a long love affair between DeeOhGee and the Kentucky music community. They’ve been a staple at The Burl and at festivals across the state ever since; their style and swagger, and good-timing spirit always the catalyst for a next-level throwdown.

We are proud to partner with Nourished Folks for The Moonshiner's Ball 2024. They offer both their support and delicious food to the festival.

You can find their delicious eats in the Friends With Benefits tent during meal times for pass holders and in the artist hospitality area.

Make sure you check them out outside of the festival! Based out of Lexington, KY, Nourished Folks exists to cook food from scratch that makes your life easier and more full of love. They want you to feed yourselves and your people something good, dropping off food for hard times, big times and even celebrations.

In 2019, Nourished Folks began as a meal delivery service out of a Toyota Corolla. During the pandemic, they realized that this model of great care for others was spilling over into other big life times: sickness, death, medical events, more babies and even just really hard and good days. So began Nourished Folks today: a cozy place to grab yourself and your loved ones something wonderful to eat when they’re really in it.

**** ANNOUNCEMENT ****

Tragedy has struck and our friends, and beloved regulars, Hey Steve will not be able to join us this year. We will be back shortly with a new artist announcement - not a replacement, because Hey Steve is wholly irreplaceable - but with a performer that we believe will bring their own distinct magic to the Ball.

I know that many of you would like to help, and we will post here as soon as there is any word on where and how we can all do that. For now, please help us send Luke and the band our love.

We are so grateful and excited to welcome our newest event partner, The Void Sake Co., to the Ball!

Kentucky's only craft sake brewery, The Void produces a rotating array of incredible traditional and experimental sake flavors, as well as a delicious rice lager beer.

They opened a fantastic tasting room and event space in Lexington's Warehouse Block (National Avenue) earlier this year, where they regularly host live music, trivia nights, yoga, sushi classes, outdoor markets and other great events.

Be sure to give them a follow on social media, and stop by to visit them next time you're in the Warehouse Block area!

**** ARTIST ANNOUNCEMENT ****

As it goes at this point in the process, exciting new announcements come paired with sad lineup departures. This time it is Deep Nourished Roots, our Sunday morning reggae band, that has to step down for personal reasons.

In their place, though, we are excited to announce that Scott T. Smith will be performing the Sunday Morning Church Set!

Affrilachian, Coyote Yippin, Moonshine Sippin', WV Proud Folk Singer!

So reads his Instagram bio, but make no mistake about it, while Scott T. Smith grew up in West Virginia, he’s also a proud Kentuckian, having cut his teeth in the Louisville music scene. We’re for sure claiming him, anyways

The songwriting on his first EP reminds me of Marty Robbins, or more recently Charley Crockett, as he narrates tales of scorned lovers seeking revenge or desperate fugitives on the lam. But his voice conjures the green Appalachian hills, not the dusty western plains. The lines of the story reverberate with a vocal range that traverses rhythm & blues, old-school country and southern gospel, rising and falling like old coal trains across hills and the hollers. It’s a distinct musical burgoo, born of the classic records his dad would spin to fill the halls of his childhood home. He’s dubbed it "folk-n-blues”.
