Speed, Power, Play! In this class, athletes will develop a foundation for speed and power, improve their athletic decision-making skills and increase performance. These athletes will be challenged with a variety of fundamental movements and sports skills to help expand their athleticism. Sessions will consist of activities and small-sided games that emphasize speed, agility and quickness. In this video, our athletes are playing a game we call Ultimate Football. This game is in an open environment, meaning athletes have to make decisions and adapt to an environment that is unpredictable and constantly changing. We play games like this with our athletes to help teach them different movement skills that will carry over to their sports that they play. Summer Performance Training Programs! If you are looking to take your training to the next level and get an edge over your opponent, we are currently offering our Sport-Specific Performance Training Programs this Summer. We have 60 or 90 minute sessions that will consist of a warm-up, speed & agility, strength training and sport-specific drills & exercises that are tailored to meet the athlete’s needs and goals for their sport. We have Soccer, Volleyball, Baseball and Softball programs for elementary school, middle school and high school athletes that are looking to improve their speed, agility, strength, vertical jump, velocity, athleticism and more. Here we are testing the 10 yd start with a group of soccer athletes in our Soccer Performance Training Program. This test is measuring acceleration, but more importantly, we are looking at the first couple steps. Being able to accelerate from a dead stop position and beat your opponent is crucial in majority of sports. In soccer, getting that first step on your opponents will help you break away from a defender, and help you change pace after winning a 1v1 battle.
