Transitional Counseling Services a division of TCSI of MI is seeking a candidate for a part-time consulting position that is a licensed and credentialed. This mental health therapist will provide outpatient/inpatient assessment, counseling and care team services to persons who have incurred deficits following catastrophic life events. Services are provided to adults, adolescents and senior persons who are also diagnosed with Traumatic Brain Injury, Spinal Cord Injury, and additional secondary diagnoses. Transitional Counseling Services specializes in the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, development, implementation and follow-up of most problematic life issues and catastrophic life events following motor vehicle accidents. Services will include assessment and treatment of depression, anxiety, adjustment to disability and substance abuse disorders. Applicants with a Clinical-Behavioral background and/or a history of working with persons who have acquired Traumatic Brain Injuries are strongly preferred.

Each applicant must have reliable transportation and is willing to drive to a patient’s home, therapy locations or other treatment designated TCSI locations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Has excellent working knowledge of behavioral medicine and evidence-based treatments for medical and mental health conditions.
Has ability to work through brief client contacts as well as to make quick and accurate clinical assessments of mental and behavioral conditions.
Is comfortable with delivering services in the community as well as office-based treatment.
Has the ability to design and implement clinical treatment plans, protocols and assessments for treatment of traumatic brain injury or persons experiencing adjustment to disability issues following a catastrophic event.
Responsible for analyzing all data obtained during that process, such as interview notes, test results, and reference manuals to create an initial Intake Summary report which will identify symptoms, diagnoses, and treatment strategies recommended.
· Provide clinical counseling services to clients and their families to assist them with the identification of treatment goals and develop realistic action plans to address targeted issues.

Documentation of all services provided including phone calls, file reviews, text messages, etc.
Responsible for providing recommendations and/or referrals to other specialists or institutions should the need for such services arise during treatment.
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
Complies with federal, state, and local legal and certification requirements.
EXPECTED WORK HOURS:

This position is an Individual Consultant

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Master’s Level Therapist: LMHC, LMFT, LCSW, MSW, LLP, LPC, TLLP or other as approved by CEO/President. C.B.I.S. preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Possesses ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations; ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals; ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from clients, customers, and the general public.

KNOWLEDGE/ SPECIAL SKILLS/ ABILITIES DESIRED:

· Ability to organize, prioritize and manage schedules and to set and adhere to deadlines.

· Must possess knowledge of HIPAA regulations and not had any violations.

· Must be able to work independently and be flexible with working schedule

· Must possess Conflict Resolution Skills

· Must possess integrity

· Preferred if the candidate is Fluent in and alternative Language (especially Arabic)

· Preferred if the candidate retains additional certificates (i.e. Substance Abuse, Gerontology, Brain Injury)

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

· Valid driver license with appropriate auto insurance

· Certificate/Licensure as appropriate

· Malpractice Insurances as applicable

REQUIREMENT:

· Must possess a valid Driver’s License

· Must have reliable transportation.

· Must be able to drive to patient’s home, therapy locations or other team designated sites as it pertains to their rehabilitation process.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Contract

Salary: $35.00 - $40.00 per hour
