Niagara Phillies Baseball Clubs

I haven’t given much context to the 2023 Niagara Phillies year to date, so this is a quick summary of the teams 2023 accomplishments. Basically it was a year of semifinal success and failure. The open age division Phillies, 35 Phillies, 45 Phillies all successfully reached the playoffs but all lost in the semis. IN addition, the tournament team which was a mix of all age group Phillie teams as well as a couple of former Phillies, went 3-1 in the Labor Day open division Rochester tournament and also lost in the semis. Both a great year for all of the Niagara Phillies teams and also a disappointing year for not advancing to the championship rounds. Hopefully, 2024 will be a year for one or more championships!

The local adult baseball league is coordinating a workout for anyone 50 years of age or older at outwater park in Lockport at 1030am who may be interested in a new 50+ division being created in 2024.

Expansion Niagara Phillies win mini-preseason tourney in Rochester beating Storm 9-1 and Rockies 10-6. Pitching was led by Dakota LLoyd, Chris Cardona, PJ Wozniak who combined for 9 innings over the 2 game yielding only 3 runs with 15 strikeouts. Standout hitting performances from 35+ Phillies Denys Grass with 4 hits including 2 doubles. Michael Rosenhagen and Eduardo Arroyo also contributed doubles from the 35 squad. Grass, Nick Demonte, Cardona, Lloyd, Sam Quagliano, Jake mandel, Tony Reyes, jake Fitzpatrick all had multiple hits over the 2 games. SS tony Reyes made the play of the game with a diving grab to his right with a strong throw to 1st to get the runner.

It's Playoff Time!

This is what baseball tournaments are all about! Great fields and good competition and awesome sight seeing at Garden of the Gods! Won our semis playoff (I caught) and now onto championship game at Vibes stadium!

Coach is facing the ultimate pitching test challenging the high altitude of Pikes Peak In the Rocky Mountain tournament July 22-23 to prove good pitching can stop good hitting even in the most formidable of elements!

Solid 4-2 victory last night for 45 Phillies.

25 Phillies win 11-4 over Crantz with help of multi hit games by frank barnack, blake borycki, Connor Dunn, Josh Bradley, and 10 team stolen bases. Cody Diaz shut down crantz with no runs over 3 innings in middle relief.

Niagara Phillies baseball clubs start season 4-1 including 2-0 record by 45+ Phillies after 6-1 victory over Spartans team led by combined 4 hitter by terlecky/scholtisek and multiple hits by terlecky/Bratko and Zawisky reaching base 3 times with 2 walks and a single.

Niagara Phillies 25+ team post first victory 8-3 over the A’s led by pitching of Joe Drajen, Cody Diaz, and John Riesen.

Next 35 game on June 3rd will feature race between Dion and John. Dion said he knew he had an easy double and just turned off the jets.

35 Phillies win opener 5-1 vs Kuhn. Paul Terlecky pitched 3 scoreless, no-hit frames, and Coach Brian Scholtisek pitched the final 4 frames, yielding 1 run. Brian Meindl led Phillies hitters with 2 doubles and 3 hits. Stellar defense by Phillies.
