Photoshop Tutorial: How to Transform Someone into a STONE STATUE
Always learning something new... found a great tutorial on rendering 'things' (people) into stone!

Hey, Red! Cover page artwork for business.
Girl Friday Graphics
Spent time in the garden amongst the bees and lavender. I love the buzzy, hummy sound they make.
Blue Hyacynth
*cracks knuckles*
yeah... I take on contracts in the middle of the busiest part of year end/tax season. mmmhmm.
Design makes my heart sing and now that my primary computer is back up and running like a champ... I can get BUSEH!
*gets busy*
One design project down (graphic design to print), one to go.
Time to go Girl Friday and help another amazing female businesswoman get her self-marketing groove on. *cracks knuckles* Business Cards and Resume up next.
It's definitely tougher to squeeze in the graphic and photographic time I'd LIKE with so many other responsibilities pulling at my heels... BUT...
Have a gig later this week for a shoot for a local bed and breakfast (Marketing shots, RIGHT up my experience alley), and an inquiry into an older shot solely for use as a marketing image.
Never doubt that we're still here. ;)
2016: year of the monkey
Back when I worked for a gourmet food company, my bossman asked me to produce a signature barcode that was a fork of spaghetti cascading down to the barcode. Worked my butt off on that project only to have the boss and have another artist (who had designed a similar concept) and use their artwork. INFURIATING! (my forks are on display in my albums and are equally as good as the one the boss purchased, but he was always a quixotic fellow)
Today I stumble upon an article/blog post about said pasta sauce labels written by the artist of the OTHER fork.
Dude gave me props for the front facing label designs. Stand up of him.
Still irritated with the bossman over that one though. .and I don't even work there any more. *dies*
2015 Pumpkin Meet
who got asked to shoot for an athletic event this weekend?
;)
BOOYA
One of the nice things about living in a small town is that your name gets around.
Received a call at my day job today from a point of contact whose daughter, now living in San Francisco, needs professional headshots in order to better market herself.
BOOYA.
Even better, the client is coming to me tonight. Gotta love it!
pictures of animals at their very best
Had a client refer to themselves as 'the client from hell' the other day.
I wish ALL my clients were so "hellish"... heh... they're one of the best clients I've ever worked with.
Gotta love it when folks actually know what they want! :D
*cracks knuckles*
feels good to be doing design work again.
...and today we get an order to format and advertisement for a local Financial Adviser. BOOYA!
Recently shot pictures of a horse (Finn) for a family I am acquainted with. This week, I found out that one of their other horses (Norman), had passed away recently. I had not been contracted to take pictures of Norman, but I HAD gotten several of him while the family was grooming Finn and I was testing out the settings on my camera.
I'll be sending print files to the family this week. The mom was overjoyed to hear that Norman DID get his portrait taken afterall. :)
UPDATES:
yes, we've been quiet. It's Year End so we're quite busy on the bookkeeping side of things these days.
THAT said... GFG is still in production with another Chinese New Years design upcoming, some new logo development, AND... a potential new labeling brand to work with!
BOOYA!
Saxophones (by that, I mean the individuals playing them) are SILLY!
This Friday... a date with the Lodi H.S. Marching Band. WOOT! I haven't been in that bandroom in about 20 years, or more. Really excited to be able to provide some photographic support to the current marching band. :)
FB may be mean about sharing the smaller pages posts...but that doesn't mean I haven't been busy! Art show tonight, photo shoot next week (school band needs a photographer)... BOOYA!
what happens when your Toki Doki run amok....
Design Work again today. Can't beat keeping my design chops up to date. Ad and content layouts today... wheee!
I'm a S.O.O.C. kind of girl. I don't MIND editing...but I prefer to try and keep edits to a minimum... the art is in the TAKING of the image (for me at least) not in the EDITING of it. But there's always that ONE Person who won't keep their eyes open in a group shot.
*pats self on back*
Moving the smiling face from one image to another, not a big deal. woot!
(it's also a RARE day when I get to do artwork while at the bookkeeping office...so BOOYA!)
