A study reviewed 13.5 million tweets on climate change by 3.2 million unique users (2018–2021). This study analyzes shifts in public attention before, during, and after the pandemic.
It was uncovered that attention dropped during the pandemic. Daily climate change-related tweets dropped sharply by 58% in the 2nd quarter of 2020 to an average of 6,603, compared to a peak of 15,914 daily tweets in 2019.
In 2021, average daily climate change tweets recovered to 2019 averages at around 13,564.
💡What this tells us is that climate change is a growing and staple issue in the human psyche.
Even when catastrophic events transpire, like the pandemic, people will continue to address climate change, as it is an ongoing, elevating, worsening human-accelerated problem to be addressed with education, conversation, policy, and action.

In honor of Energy Efficiency Day, has your company’s C&I buildings taken one of the most important steps to reduce energy demand, even before adding renewables and storage to your energy management mix? Here's why an LED retrofit should be one of the first measures to lower demand and carbon emissions.
💡Lighting accounts for about 20% of total electricity consumption in commercial buildings.
💡Most lighting in U.S. commercial buildings comes from fluorescent troffer ceiling fixtures, with over 350 million troffers currently installed, consuming more than 65 million kWh annually, the same energy used by 6 million U.S. homes.
💡As of 2015, only 5% of troffers had been upgraded to LEDs.
💡Retrofitting fluorescent troffers with LED lights offers huge energy savings.
💡Making this switch can result in energy savings of 20% to 60%, helping companies meet their energy-efficiency goals.
There are many supportive Energy Management companies that can provide rebates and connect you with incentives for relamping facilities for energy efficient lighting options. Here are just a few Ameresco A1 Energy

As solar capacity expands in California, grid operators face the increasingly severe challenge of the "duck curve," a phenomenon where net electricity demand plummets in the middle of the day when solar generation is at its peak and then rapidly surges in the evening as solar power diminishes.
This deepening duck curve strains the grid, requiring conventional power plants to ramp up production quickly, complicating the real-time balancing of supply and demand.
Additionally, the economic viability of these conventional plants is threatened as they operate less frequently, potentially leading to their premature retirement without adequate replacements, thereby exacerbating grid instability.
What's the solution? Battery storage systems and Virtual Power Plants.

Environmental Problem: PFAS, or per and poly-fluoroalkyl substances, have been used since the 1940s.
These are chemicals found in non-stick pans, waterproof materials, personal care products, and cleaning products that end up in our drinking water supply and soil. Known for their persistence, PFAS build up over time, posing serious health risks such as increased cancer risk, reproductive issues, and immune system interference. Studies show that 99% of Americans have PFAS in their blood.
Removing PFAS from drinking water is crucial for protecting health.
While the EPA has lined up action plans to address PFAS, such as the January 2023 proposal to prevent anyone from starting or resuming the manufacture, processing, or use of 300 PFAS without a complete EPA review and risk determination, the fact remains that PFAS are in our drinking water. It’s important to filter them out in your household before drinking the water.
Solution: One solution for individuals wanting to filter out PFAS from their drinking water is the iconic USA Berkey Filters. Perfluorinated chemicals remain a persistent health and environmental threat. The best protection is having a final barrier system, like the Berkey® gravity-fed water purification system. These powerful filters have been independently tested to remove perfluorinated chemicals to below detectable levels.
