This patient came to our office unhappy with the bulky appearance of her crowns and the gum inflammation surrounding them. We removed the old crowns and replaced them with 2 emax crowns. Using Emax, we were able to achieve a more natural harmonious looking smile while restoring the health of the gums. ✅ ✅.

Life changing smile makeover! 🤩This patient eroded his teeth and was experiencing sensitivity to cold due to the loss of his enamel. We were able to cover his areas of sensitivity and aesthetically enhance his smile. These are temporaries that the patient will “test drive” for a couple weeks to make sure he likes his new smile. On the bottom is an overlay as I slightly opened up his bite. Final porcelain will be placed in 3 weeks!!

🦷✨ I’m so happy to finally be able to share some exciting news!! In just 3 years Heartwell Dental has outgrown our current location and will be moving this spring to a bigger and nicer location. 🏡 It’s crazy that since I was a kid and being a Long Beach local I have driven past this dental office hundreds of times. Shortly after buying my current office, I was having coffee at the shop next door to the new office and thinking, man it would be a dream to have my office here. It really is a dream come true and I couldn’t be happier and very grateful for this opportunity. I can’t wait to treat my current patients and hopefully future patients at this new office. “I just want to be able to smile confidently, and I don’t like how my crowns are different colors”

We were able to improve her smile by replacing an old bridge, crowning, and veneering several teeth. By doing this we were able to create a more natural smile, and see her smile confidently.

“I want to do something about this baby tooth, but I’m not ready for an implant”

This patient wanted to improve his smile, but wasn’t ready to proceed with an extraction and eventually an implant. I had to create room for the composite resin bonding by removing a small amount of tooth structure from his opposing tooth on the bottom. I then built up the rest of his tooth with composite bonding. If the patient is careful this can last him sometime, before needing an implant!

This patient had several concerns, from cavities under old fillings to broken down teeth. We were able to transform, strengthen, and protect his teeth with a mix of 10 crowns and veneers.

This patient unfortunately chipped her tooth and in one visit we were able to to fix it. Can’t even tell it was chipped! .

One of the hardest things to do in dentistry is matching the shade of the two front teeth to rest of the mouth. Our lab did a great job of matching the shape and color for this young guy. Unfortunately he got hit in the face at school : ( protect your teeth while playing sports!

When you’re missing a tooth, you have a couple of options to replace the missing area. In this case (and in most cases) an implant was the best option and was placed by our very own in house periodontist . Today we delivered this patients implant crown and we were thrilled with the results!! *crown made by

“ Hey Dr. G, what can I do to fix the crowding on my bottom teeth? And I also don’t like how my top teeth stick out.”
Answer: Invisalign! In 7 months we were able to address this patients concerns: Fixing his lower crowding, making it easier to floss, and aligning his top teeth so they aren’t flared out. 😁🦷

I will be in Italy for the next 2 weeks!! But the office will still be open for cleanings! I’m going to miss my patients but soooo excited for this vacation. Still reppin the everywhere I go!!

What a transformation! This kind patient came in to improve his smile and overall oral health. He had broken teeth, gum disease, and several cavities. After a deep cleaning to improve his gum health and filling his cavities, we strengthened his teeth by crowning them. Such a beautiful result for a well-deserved man!

In just a few months we were able to close this patient’s gap and straighten her lower teeth, creating the look she’s always wanted and aligning her teeth so it’s easier for her to clean. Beauty & functionality!

Happy Flossing Friday!! Some patients like floss picks because of their convenience, especially those with arthritis or other ailments that make a tooth pick handle easier to hold. However, since you’re using the same piece of floss between each tooth, you might be redistributing plaque and bacteria into other areas of the mouth.

String floss is longer, so ideally, you’re using a different part of floss between each tooth, preventing the distribution of bacteria throughout the mouth. And due to it’s length, the floss can better hug the tooth to remove plaque.

Whatever you decide on, we just want to see you floss!

Happy Wisdom tooth Wednesday!

The body is designed to heal itself, especially the mouth. Research shows that wounds in the mouth heal much faster than wounds in other parts of the body.

Take a look at this 3 year old girl with a deep cut on her tongue. Initially, the pediatric dentist, oral surgeon, and myself recommended that she have it sutured; however, as she waited several hours in the ER, her tongue began to heal on its own and the gash started to close up. Within 24 hours, the gash had completely closed. This is because the oral bacteria present in the mouth and proteins present in our saliva can help reduce the inflammation of the wound, helping it heal faster. This shows just how phenomenal our bodies are! So if your child has a fall and cuts their tongue, it is a normal reaction to freak out, but know that their cut will heal relatively fast.

And while the body is created to heal itself – sometimes it may need help. If you notice any concerns persisting for several days, call the office, we’ll be happy to take care of you!

So you’re a new parent and your baby started growing teeth! 🦷 You might be wondering when to take your child to the dentist for their first visit.

👨🏻‍⚕️ The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends taking your child to the dentist by 12 months of age (About 6 months after your child gets their first tooth).

What our visit will look like:
👶🏻 Children can’t feel happy and scared at the same time – so I will spend time happily engaging with your little one and safely introducing them to the equipment around them. Your child will get to safely explore the environment to their level of comfort.
🦷 I will examine your child’s mouth and polish his or her teeth. Some children struggle with a polish on their very first visit. If this is the case for your little one, not to worry! Meeting a gentle dentist will help them grow comfortable for a polish on their next visit.
🪥 Because starting good habits early is incredibly important, you and I will go over general brushing techniques for your toddler.
🥦 We will also discuss nutrition that can contribute to your child’s oral health.

During the first years of your child’s life, I know how important it is for you to ensure your baby’s comfort. It’s my goal to provide a safe and engaging environment for you and your little one 👶 . And if your precious one cries, no worries! Rest assured, crying children don’t bother me a bit 😉
