💫What I'm working on Wednesday!
It has been a while since I have popped on here. My kids have been home for summer break and while I have still been working I have taken a little break from social media. They are now back at school and I wanted to show a couple clips of rooms I am working on.
- A fun yet grown up girls room with a pop of color!
-A Neutral Living Room in the beautiful Newport Beach CA.
I finished my sons room before he got home from camp, although I promised him I would keep it simple it still looks fresh and upgraded. Pictures to come!

I love working on Living Rooms. It is a great place to show off a bit of your personality, display some of your favorite things and gather around with family and friends. If your Living Room feels welcoming and comfortable I believe it will set the tone for the rest of your home.

💫 Its been a while since I have done a bathroom design.
I love a room with depth, movement and zen vibes 😍
Although we tend to focus on other major rooms in the house, the bathroom is where you spend you personal time. You should feel relaxed and comfortable in it.
📌Here are some tips on creating a relaxing Master Bathroom!
➡ Create a functional space. One that is easy to maintain and help you stay organized.
➡Install a floating tub. It not only creates a great focal point but gives you more space to truly unwind in a more open space.
➡ Add in plants. They bring in warmth and help clear the air. (an added plus-they love the humidity)
➡Bring some natural elements from the outside into your bathroom.
💫 I have taken a minute to enjoy some time away, welcomed one kid home from camp and continued working on some projects. Now that I am back with some new faces around here I thought I would pop in and say hi!
I am Chana the face behind Sense of Design Studio.
Even if you do not see me often I am working behind the scenes with clients and I loving every minute of it.
A little about me:
👉🏻 I used to own a custom cake shop for 9 years. It was called Pleasant Cakes. (you can check it out, I never took down the photos)
👉🏻 I am a mom of 3 who challenge me daily and they are the reason I push myself to succeed,
👉🏻 My favorite part of my job is seeing the excitement through my clients eyes and seeing a room come to life.
👇🏻Pop in and say hi, introduce yourself, I would love to get to know more of you.

💚Every project is a journey and I am honored to be a part of it.
💫 Choosing the right coffee table size.
You want to have the right height and size coffee table for your sofa so it looks good and can properly serve its purpose.
👉🏻Height- Choose a heigh that is the same as your sofa or about 1"-2" lower. This makes it easier to place a drink onto the table.
👉🏻Width- Make sure you have enough room to leave about 16" from the sofa to the coffee table for comfortable foot traffic.
👉🏻Length- To avoid overpacking your space or buying a table that is to bulky, choose a table that is about 2/3 of the length of your sofa.
👉🏻 Round or square coffee tables are great for shorter sofas.
What shape do you prefer in your living room?
💫 Working on another neutral living room!
This Moodboard represents a clean, natural and relaxing space wouldn't you agree?
The colors of the walls are already painted a beautiful cream called Swiss Coffee that we picked during our color consultation.

🤗 Hearing kind words like these is why I love what I do.
When I started working with this client she would second guess herself on what she liked. Through the process of setting up her home and bringing her vision to life she now has the confidence to go into any store and pick out pieces for her home.
Got caught up on other projects but I wanted to share this moodboard I am working on for a master bedroom. Better late than never! 😉

Mixing woods in your home is not only ok but is actually recommended to create interest and contrast.
It can be a little tricky so here are 4 go to tips for mixing woods like a pro.
A company Los Angeles reached out to me to help them incorporate a lounge in the office building.
They want a space where the employees can relax, do some yoga, meditate and play games. 🧘🏻🧘🏻♂

More and more people are working from home. It is important to have a space where you can think clearly, not get distracted and let your creative juices flow.
💫 5 Tips For Creating A Home Office❗
➡Choose a color palette that is not distracting, will not cause over stimulation or visual clutter.
➡Create an organization system. Add in storage where you can and keep clutter out of sight
➡Put in an area rug. It will add texture, warmth and help absorb sound.
➡Add in layers of light sources. Ceiling lights, desk lamps, floor lamps and natural light where you can.
➡Purchase furniture that is functional and comfortable that does not compromise on style.

💛 It is always a privilege to be welcomed into a home that is waiting for a fresh start.
💫What I am currently working on.
A condo in LA with an open Dining/Living Room.
With open floor plans or rooms with awkward spaces, creating a 3D image helps with proper furniture placement options.

🤩Loving all of the texture in this Moodboard.
It's always fun to see where a room is going to take me. I normally start my design with the largest item in a room and work from there. This design started with a sectional from . It screams comfort, clean, and neutral. It had to be paired with lots of textures, and natural woods. I like to incorporate smaller budgeted items with my bigger priced items such as this console table from .
🙋🏻♀Anyone else like to mix in budget friendly finds into their home decor?
💫Organized work space= clear mind.
When a mom of 2 works from home she deserves a space that is just for her. A bedroom that once housed an old desk and boxes of paperwork is now a functional home office.
The best part....it was a gift for her from her husband 😌
💫 Working with pieces that you already own and love is a great starting point to any design.
It is a common question to have when you are working with a designer about whether or not you can keep some of your existing furniture, art or accessories and the answer is YES!
Your home should be filled with things that make it uniquely yours no matter how old or new.
And who doesn't love a good challenge fitting your grandmother's hutch into your new living room!? 😉

❕Placing a rug in a room can help with adding color, texture and help the space feel bigger.
Putting the wrong size rug can actually make the room feel smaller and off balanced.
Here are 3 tips to properly size rugs for the more popular rooms in your house.
➡Bedrooms- You want to make sure you are leaving between 8" of space between the rug and the nightstands and 1' between the end of the bed and the end of the rug. Standard size for Queen beds are 8x10 and King beds 9x12.
➡Living Room. When placing furniture on the rug you want to have at least the front legs of the sofas, chairs, end tables etc. placed on top of the rug.
➡Dining Room- All of the dining chairs should fit on the rug with at least an extra 8" going all the way around the sides. You do not want to cover the entire floor with the rug so make sure to leave around 1' of space between the rug and the walls.

We create relaxing homes in hopes that at the beginning and end of each day you can escape from the hustle of the world around you. BUT letting in the natural elements of the outside can help you create an even calmer and enjoyable space.
The soft green tones, plants and natural woods and textures in this bedroom do just that!
💫Anyone else try not to work over the weekends but fail miserably?
