Such a beautiful opportunity that our Nkauj Ci Iab dancers will cherish forever. Thank you Maa Vue šŸ’žšŸ’ž

Hereā€™s a throwback to May 2015 at the Hmong Music Festival, a time Iā€™ll always remember. It was my first performance with a dance group, and these incredible girls truly rocked the show!

At a tough point in my life, when asking for help felt like a shot in the dark, these young women came through in ways I couldnā€™t have imagined. Their support set the standard for how I engage with dance groups today, teaching me the importance of valuing those who support me. Their kindness during that challenging time has had a lasting impact on my life.

Now, it's my turn to give back to the Hmong dance community. With just 5 days left to enter the Maa Vue Dance Challenge, I'm thrilled to see the entries rolling in! The top three teams will win $5,000 each and get the opportunity to perform with me at my showcase. I can't wait to see what these talented teams bring to the stage!

Todayā€¦.i turn 39ā€¼ļø I knowā€¦enough numbers for my kids to l tell me to get off of TikTok and stay on Facebook where the ā€œold peopleā€ areā€¦

Soā€¦. because I get so many questions about life in generalā€¦. here are 39 Doses of Dictums that may answer your question. These are more personal to meā€¦but hopefully they are also applicable and resonate with you.

37. Smile at strangers (I knowā€¦spare me the details.. just be kind)
36. Donā€™t kill the spiderā€¦they serve a purpose in this world that was created in perfection
35. Snooze 3xā€¦so what? šŸ˜
34. Collectibles does not make you awkward šŸ˜
33. Saying ā€œyesā€ is okay as long as it aligns with your values and allows you to grow intellectually
32. Curiosity does not always kill the catā€¦explore a little

26. Itā€™s okay to go to bed madā€¦just not in separate rooms
25. Get your spouse something nice once in a whileā€¦it doesnā€™t have to always be during ā€holidaysā€ or bdays
24. Blood is NOT always thicker than waterā€¦(this requires maturity to understand)
23. Guilt is part of lifeā€¦donā€™t try to eliminate it from life. It helps provide clarity to your values
22. Not knowing what to do after college is ā€œnormalā€ who ends up doing what they major in after college anyways???? šŸ™‚ā€ā†”ļø
21. Learn to create space for yours and other peopleā€™s disappointment
20. ā€œXuv paug nraaj tsev tsi yuav hlav, tuabneeg nste tsi yuav hlavā€ (in essenceā€¦learn from other peopleā€™s morales and also create space for self exploration)

9. Help where you can at funerals
8. Make memoriesā€¦money can always be made
7. Choose forgivenessā€¦resentment and vengeance never provides you with the everlasting peace you seek

5. ā€œYuam tsuj nqug lug, yuam lug nqug tsi lugā€ (be cognizant of your words before you speak. You wonā€™t be able to retrieve them after they leave your mouth)
4. Itā€™s never just the kidsā€¦.if youā€™re only in it for the kidsā€¦Iā€™m already sorry for whatā€™s to come
3. Pain is part of lifeā€¦donā€™t over exert efforts to avoid itā€¦but work through it
2. Build relationshipsā€¦..I canā€™t stress enough why this is sooo critical in our everyday functioning and overall life. I donā€™t just mean the usual ā€œhiā€ and ā€œbyeā€ā€¦I mean creating deep connections with others so that youā€™re not showing up as what they want you to be but just being yourself
2.1 itā€™s ok to be misunderstood.. not everyone will like you or support you. Just be you šŸ™ŒšŸ¼ā¤ļø
1. I MUST be smallerā€¦I must DECREASEā€¦.I must become lessā€¦(this one is personal)

Other than thatā€¦take care and be wellā€¦šŸ™šŸ¼ā¤ļø
