Each year St Vincent Sixth Grade students participate in a fun yet prayerful end of year retreat. Pat and Rachelle Huey open their home to the teachers and class along with over twenty high school and college retreat team members.

This year’s focus was Padre Pio and the call to forgiveness and the sacrament of reconciliation.
While in Italy, the Huey’s purchased each student a rosary at Padre Pio’s monastery and which were also blessed by Pope. Sixth grade students now each have a sacred memento specific to their class to take with them as they leave St Vincent.

SVS students had their annual talent show yesterday, and the students blew everyone away!! The competition was so tight that we literally had a 4-way tie for 1st place. Special thanks to all of our participants. It was really awesome to see our students evangelize using their talent to share Jesus with the school.

Yesterday was 1st-5th grade awards, and our kids amaze us every year with their accomplishments. However, behind every amazing kid who won awards or the student who didn't, there is a loving teacher cheering and encouraging them, building them up, and praying for them. We are truly blessed at Saint Vincent de Paul to have such a cohesive family working together for the spiritual and academic advancement of our children.

Mrs. Necaise and Mrs. Cox played hooky with our 6th graders for their end of the year fun day! They were able to get some energy out at the trampoline park and then fill up on pizza at
Sicily's. They have all bonded over the years at St Vincent, and next year, students will be going off to different schools. This was a wonderful time for them to fellowship one more time as a class. Our thoughts and prayers are with our sixth graders. β™₯οΈπŸ˜‡

As 2nd grade draws to an end, so do the adventures of Flat Stanley!! Our kids had a great time tracking and locating Flat Stanley's movements on the map. The furthest that Flat Stanley traveled from Saint Vincent de Paul was to Japan and Germany. Thank you
Mrs. Patridge and Mrs. Pletsch for creating adventures through learning for or students.

Mrs Patridge has been reading Flat Stanley with her classes for over 30 years and brought that tradition with her when she joined St Vincent. Each student makes and sends a Flat Stanley to a friend or family member in another state.(or country) The person takes him on adventures around their city/state and returns him with pictures and a letter to the class about his adventures. This is a great way to learn about other states in our country. As they return, the students locate the city and state on a US map and discuss the location from Mississippi. This year, the Flat Stanley that traveled the furthest went to Japan.

The 1st grade classes had a book party this morning!!!!

One of our students read over 100 AR books during this school year. All of the books were displayed on the tables in the library, and each student was able to take one home. Afterward, they celebrated with cupcakes and quiet reading time outside.

Thank you to our amazing 1st grade teachers who cultivate such a love for reading in our students.
