As Pride 2023 comes to an end I have been reflecting and realized I never felt the need to showcase my life. UNTIL NOW. My life has been filled with love and support since I first felt like I was a bit different from the crowd. I took for granted the privilege that gave me and just went on with life with rose colored glasses because I NEVER ran into hate. But, not everyone was or is as lucky as I am. ⁠

Being legally married to Annie for almost 20 years and now being able to be MIMI and GIGI to our two year old grandson, Bodhi, I am reminded that while our world has made significant progress over the years that progress is threatened by the amount of hate and bigotry directed at my LBTQ+ community today. I will never understand why my life or who I love is such a threat to people. With that being said, I want to do whatever I can to identify and showcase the love, understanding, and acceptance I've felt in my life. This is not only for myself but for everyone else who has ever experienced prejudice or discrimination in any form. I'd like to be a beacon of hope that you CAN be accepted no matter your gender identity, sexual orientation, or race.⁠

I hope for us all to be united in this type of love and understanding. Let's show the world that we can do more than protest, boycott, or march, but also focus on loving one another to create a positive future! Together let’s continue to share our stories of acceptance, understanding, and love so that everyone knows they are not alone. ⁠
