Put your hands together for...MISSY! She's a sweet three-year-old pup that loves making waves in the kiddie pool and is looking for a forever home through San Jose Animal Care and Services Center.

"Missy is one of our most overlooked dogs. She has been at our shelter since Nov. 2023, and we cannot figure out why she has not been adopted. She is such a good dog and would truly love to finally find her furever home.

Missy is a gorgeous Carolina dog mix. She was a bit shy at the beginning of her but her personality began to come through once she sniffed around.

As you can see Missy loves the water. She is certainly a water dog. We thought it was so cute when she got in the doggie pool because she acted like she was swimming in the deepest of waters, splashing around and trying to doggy paddle.

Missy likes toys and is super gentle with them. We believe she is still learning how to play with toys but is very intrigued. She will nudge them with her muzzle and very gently pick them up to carry them around.

Missy loves human attention. She always welcomes pets and cuddles. As you can see, she is quite the muscular girl, which makes her quite athletic.

Get to know Sully! He's a sweet husky mix that's a little over 2.5 years old and is looking for his forever home through San Jose Animal Care and Services Center.

Here are some notes from his walker:
"Sully is a fantastic boy! I don’t know why he’s been at the shelter so long. He was easy to harness and hopped readily into the car and was well behaved during the ride. Sully loves leisurely sniffy walks, and walks very nicely on the front clip harness with no pulling. Want to enjoy a cup of coffee for your morning walk? Sully is your guy! He loves to soak it all in and enjoys watching the goings on around him and checking out all of the smells. He will definitely show you how to be more present in life!

At the shelter, Sully participates in one-on-one playgroups with dogs that match his play style. He is dog selective, so we always recommend bringing any resident dogs for a meet and greet. On our walks, we passed many dogs, and Sully passed all of them politely with the encouragement of treats. He is very food motivated! He only got annoyed by a dog that surprised us and invaded his space otherwise he was on his best behavior! He even politely passed rabbits and families of geese!

Sully was an excellent Doggie Day Out buddy! I hope he finds someone who recognizes the gem he is!"

Meet Angelo - this dapper fellow is a special needs cat estimated to be about 1 year and 9 months old. He was surrendered to San Jose Care and Services due to ongoing digestive issues. At the shelter, the medical team got him the care he needed and put him on a prescription diet. As a member of the troubled tummy club, Angelo needs a patient and understanding pet parent that can keep him on his special diet. 😋

Angelo is currently living in a foster home and is up for adoption through San Jose Animal Care and Services. If you're interested in welcoming him home, please contact them today!

Introducing Oreo! He's a sweet black and white Pit Bull Terrier and Australian Cattle Dog mix that's been searching for his forever home since September 2023. Oreo is currently staying in a foster home and is up for adoption through San Jose Animal Care and Services.

Here are some notes from his foster parent:

"Oreo is doing amazingly well. It turns out he is just a chill, cuddly guy when he's not stressed in a kennel. I don't even think he's that high energy. I would say medium energy, happy to be a couch potato with a couple nice walks or play sessions a day.
We've had a few training sessions, and he's already making huge progress on stay, leave it, watch me, shake, spin (in a circle), and lie down. He has great recall, perfect house manners, is extremely polite with the cat and other dogs, does well in his crate, and is making great progress on loose-leash walking. His housebreaking is also progressing well.
The one minor behavioral issue with him is just some mouthiness when he plays/gets excited because I don't think he differentiates humans and dogs while playing, but we're working on that, and I don't expect it to be a long-term issue. (Minor mouthiness - no nipping/actual closing of teeth or anything, just kind of going through the world mouth-first like a puppy when he's excited).
Basically, he is a perfect dog with a lot to learn but no real negative behaviors. He just wants to lie on your lap and cuddle you like a hefty, weighted blanket."
